"RRSP contributions are made with money already taxed." No, because when you put 1 dollar into your RRSP, you can claim that dollar on your taxes, and it lowers your taxable income by 1 dollar RRSP contributions LOWER your tax now, and you only pay on withdraw, often at a lower rate

People have no idea how taxes actually work, and this clip is INSANE. A short rant 1. People are calling this unfair, but you need to realize that RRSP contributions aren't actually taxed until you withdraw for retirement. So when you contribute to the RRSP now, you actually get to lower your tax bill. This lets you invest more to build up wealth. When you retire, you pay taxes as you withdraw, often at a lower rate This is especially true for rich people, because they get a top-bracket deduction now, and pay taxes at a lower rate decades later 2. People are acting like they DIDNT GET A COTTAGE. The 55,000 left over is in addition to the property, which is an excellent deal, and a sign the property was quite expensive to general major capital gains. 3. If the sell the cottage, they may end up with large amount for each sibling, even after tax 4. Capital gains is only taxed at half the rate income is, so it's an excellent deal

@DustyRoseYYC @Christophe27323 @christoaivalis Sounds like you can afford to keep paying that top income bracket then bud. Anyway, for the vast majority of Canadians, RRSPs are a good deal. Go complain about making too much money elsewhere

@DustyRoseYYC @Christophe27323 @christoaivalis Then an RRSP is not the best strategy for you. But for someone who plans to take a lower income when they retire (presumably because their mortgage is paid off) then an RSP makes sense.

The E.M. case against the five world juniors tells me we might have to re-think our court system. She endured NINE days on the stand. You can say that is the law, but maybe we should re-think it. I see why many victims/survivors of sexual abuse opt for silence.

@csersrule @thebreannabrown I fundamentally disagree. Personal autonomy grants the right to refuse vaccination. Mandating it for jobs, where refusal prevents income, is unfair and not a free choice.
