If all we need to focus on is world class reading, writing, and math, you can do that in three hours a day. That's my experience as an educator. So basically my secondary curriculum is: let's get top-notch skills in three hours a day, and let kids focus on pursuing their passions for three hours a day. As a consequence we could have cohorts of young people who are really world class at something. If you're a programmer or a rock guitarist, you're not going to be taking Ritalin if you're doing what you love. Doing what you love takes care of a lot of stuff.

@Debbie72301806 @kojimaicmatters Well honestly? Ive never tried to undo it because unlike being late everywhere it usually doesnt have negative consequences. Sometimes I get into my appointments earlier due to no shows. Sure when a day goes to plan more day is lost but.. im never late.

@Trizetacannon @HailZiZer @kojimaicmatters The buffer only exists for unexpected events, traffic etc. Ignore the buffer part. Treat the alarm as the time you HAVE to leave. It's just practice.

@HailZiZer @kojimaicmatters Speaking as someone with ADHD, this is terrible advice. What will happen is that the person will be in the middle of something, and then their alarm goes off. They will then think something like "I have a 15 minute buffer and this will only take 5 minutes to finish"... 1/2

@M0nkL0ver @kojimaicmatters Real question. Does experience matter? For example, once you learned that the walk down the road DIDN'T take an hour, did you record how much time it took and adjust your expectations accordingly? I get it's annoying to not know instinctively but you can learn it.

@kojimaicmatters Honestly, im time blind in a unique way in that I dont understand the time anything ever takes. Im infront of that doctors office 1 hour early because I thought the walk down the road lasts an hour (it doesnt,) and so I left an hour and thirty early so im not late.

@classic_film I read the book first and enjoyed it very much. I think the series is very faithful to the book but they really take off as you leave the original P&P timeline as you guessed. Stick with it. It's Mary's story itself that gets interesting.

I've watched the first two episodes of The Other Bennet Sister...and am sadly underwhelmed. Hopefully, it will improve now that it has moved past the P&P timeline. Thus far, I don't care for Mary or the actress that plays her. Lizzie is neither charming nor witty. I understand the intent is to focus on Mary, but everything feels too far removed from Jane Austen's novel.

MAJOR UPDATE: @RickAddante was just served with a temporary injunction and ordered to surrender his firearms to the Melbourne Sheriff’s Office. Addante is being sued by Professor Brandon May of Florida Tech. Last year, Addante publicly exposed how officials like Brandon at @FloridaTech allegedly discussed rebranding “climate change” initiatives with different language to keep receiving funding and play the system. Addante previously filed a separate whistleblower lawsuit against FIT that remains pending. Matthew Tyrmand, the former board member of Project Veritas, is attempting this similar litigation tactic against James O’Keefe currently that May is attempting against Addante.

I strongly suspect that liberals are angrier and more disillusioned than conservatives for the simple reason that they have no moral absolutes. For conservatives issues are usually pretty black and white, but for liberals everything is dominated by moral relativism and therefore their universe, rather than being black and white, is saturated in shades of gray. Not having a clear moral compass must grow to be terribly confusing, and that confusion must inevitably manifest itself into stress and eventually anger. Obviously the right’s absolutes are guided by religion, but the left has largely eschewed such wisdom in favor of their own moral superiority. Hence the justifications for the riots, COVID persecution, Charlie Kirk’s assassination, etc. Of course not everything in the world is as cut and dry as conservatives would like to believe; that’s precisely why crimes are tiered in our judicial system. But humanity ultimately needs divine guidance. We are so flawed, so imperfect, that we are incapable of finding the truth when left to our own devices. I think the left’s behavior over the last ten years speaks for itself.

@DrunkRepub I agree. I also think that having no moral absolutes must be exhausting. Every issue needs to be decided again and again because without a driving first principle, they need to litigate it all in their mind. "How do I feel about this? Is someone being oppressed?" Exhausting.

I marvel at the keyboard warrior-geniuses and grifters who are ignorant of Senate rules and precedents who have miraculously become experts in its arcane rules. Promising the moon and stars and yet destining Republicans for failure is a very effective way to demoralize our base and elect more Democrats in the midterms.

There is nothing “common sense” about continuing to place profits over working class Americans. More and more people are starting to understand they deserve good and dignified lives, union jobs, to be able to afford rent, childcare and more. That’s incompatible with your continued servitude of the Billionaire class.

The Democratic establishment deserves a slow clap here. Really. Bravo. They spent years building the perfect little political terrarium: NGOs, activist salaries, university grievance factories, donor cash, media protection, blue-city patronage, “equity” rackets, and taxpayer-funded do-gooder laundromats all humming along under the sacred banner of “Our Democracy.” Then they looked at the radicals crawling around inside and said, “Surely these people will remain manageable.” Absolutely brilliant, guys. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries now look like substitute teachers trying to take attendance during a prison riot. The donors are sweating through their custom suits. The consultants are pretending this is just a “messaging challenge.” The media is polishing the same old turd and calling it “youth energy.” No, champ. This is not youth energy. This is the bill. You told them America was evil. You told them capitalism was theft. You told them police were the enemy. You told them borders were immoral. You told them every institution had to be “decolonized,” “reimagined,” or burned down and rebuilt by people with sociology degrees and untreated rage. Now they believe you. And worse, they want promotions. That is the humiliation. The party bosses thought they were renting radicals by the hour. Turns out the radicals thought they were being trained to run the place. Democrats built the hive, fed the hive, defended the hive, and called anyone who noticed a conspiracy theorist. Now the hive has the keys. Enjoy the buzzing. (article below)

They're not freezing your rent, they're freezing your housing providers' income, while their expenses keep increasing. The point isn't to make your housing affordable, it's to make providing housing financially inviable, so government(s) can seize the unmanageable properties. Our lack of financial literacy is going to destroy us. spencerpratt.substack.com/p/the-phantom-…
