I'm going to share more pics looking exactly the age that I am. Not that I ever post pics where I don't. Filters are dumb and I don't wear much makeup. The times when I appear in public or on TV with what seems like a lot of make up, it's because there is a hair and make up person on set and I never quite feel like myself all done up. It's fun sometimes. Not totally me. But that's ok every once in a while. Make up is reversible! In addition to helping to save women's sports, I'm going to make it normal to look your age again. Me and Pam Anderson. She might have a bigger impact but I'm right there with you Pam! 💪

I faintly prayed a few times for God to provide a new desk chair, as my back is bothering me from sciatica, and for new luggage for upcoming trip to conference. My old luggage was damaged a few years ago at Dulles. Last week I went to purchase ink for our printer and Staples had an earn double points coupon for ink on their app. While in the store I saw their luggage AND office chairs were 50% off. I walked away because I couldn’t afford them at the moment. Lo and behold I get a notification when I got home of earning a crazy amount of points on that ink purchase…just enough to redeem for the luggage AND chair 😭 I love when God provides like that. But it also reminded me He always hears my prayers, but his timing and means are always better… he’s always at work on his children’s behalf. And sometimes He surprises us specifically just to remind us of his care…and to fuel our faith for the harder things we’re praying for.

Without Christ, all solutions for the soul are a temporary fix to a permanent problem.

If only some of these doctors actually HAD a loved one that was seriously mentally ill. You can’t understand until you try to get help. (My daughter spent nine months on the approved waiting list for a state hospital. It took me seven years to get her on that list. Of course, now they can’t keep her long term… #tappedandskipped

Take some time to think and research about these things. I was brought into this arena kicking & screaming. You don’t have to be.

Under the Obama administration we came very close to signing the UNCRPD. If we had signed this treaty, it could have been used to usurp our Constitution. Hidden in this nice sounding “Disability Rights” agreement was language that sought to do away with guardianship & involuntary treatment for the severely mentally ill.🧵

I saw a solid biblical counseling group post this on social media to confirm that there are no biomarkers for psychiatric disorders. I agree the DSM is flawed, but please consider that we do not have biomarkers for many ailments such as migraines and autoimmune disorders. Mad in America is a notoriously anti-psychiatry site & implicitly bias against treatment for the severely mentally ill. Please consider. This makes me so angry. Any one with common sense knew that putting drug addicted and mentally ill people in housing with no strings attached was a recipe for disaster. I’m glad we ended Housing First, but we can’t stop with an executive order on homelessness. We need leadership and focus.
