If they say yes, they're opting in. If they say no, at least you've let them decide instead of choosing for them.

Measuring #rightventricle performance is best done with a combo of #echocardiography and a #pulmonaryarterycatheter. Great review by @KagiyamaNobu, but I like to use PAPI too. #Pulmonaryarterypulsatilityindex. Just remember, PA catheters can be dangerous and difficult to place

#Research: Vasopressor of choice for #rightventricle failure is primarily #norepinephrine.
I usually opt for #epinephrine for my #patient after #cardiopulmonarybypass and norepinephrine with #nitroglycerin for RV strain with #pulmonaryhypertension. #MedTwitter #FOAMed

Because the #rightvetricle is 60% thinner walled than the LV and about 1/6th the mass, it also uses about 1/6th the amount of the amount of #oxygen.

We were taught that #coronary #perfusion is only during #diastole, that's true for the #leftventricle.
The #rightventricle is always getting perfusion.
Perfusion pressure = Arterial pressure - target organ pressure
