@Aliteraryshadow What I'm gathering from this discourse is that Academia has slowly been building up an unsustainable research model, probably by adding ill-formed rules for publication. This becomes IMMEDIATELY unsustainable with AI in the mix. They could have seen it coming but didn't prepare.

As I enter the home stretch with Burden of Fire I am feeling a bit sad. I am very proud of what I have created with this story, but it's book 3 and I really need to build readership for this series which is lagging behind Fires of an Empire by a lot. I don't have anyone outside my husband to beta or arc it and that sucks!

The impression one gets from the ongoing citation discourse on here is that humanities scholars just work much harder on their publications than others do
