@Tornantitan @Autistic_Lauren I disagree on the grounds of only interests. This is definitely said in relation to struggles too. Like the “we all have a bad day” same as “we’re all a little autistic”. We never said other ppl don’t have bad days but the frequency & degree to which we’re affected isn’t the same

@Autistic_Lauren "We're all a little autistic" They only say this when it involves having interests because they believe that's all autism is.

@Its_Toad @brintonyosaia @Autistic_Lauren I would say the vast majority of us are pretty direct ppl & appreciate others being direct w/us. You can simply say “It’s nice to see you & chat but I prefer that ppl don’t touch me, thanks. Always happy to give a wave.” Friendly but clear.

There's a gentleman that works at a local store who (i suspect) has autism and he's very much so overly friendly sometimes and he'll touch my arms or grab my shoulder etc. when hes talking to me. And I feel like I can't tell him no BECAUSE he's autistic. Like im "mean" for having boundaries. I shouldn't have to feel bad or uncomfortable. I think it most definitely works both ways.

@Autistic_Lauren “It’s a super power”. No it fucking isn’t. Some ppl get cool abilities with it, great. Many don’t. All of us are disabled by it in some way to some degree. If you struggle less than someone else, great. Doesn’t mean your positive viewpoint is superior or able to invalidate others

@tuvya68 @BillJr212 @RealPostFolder Yes - it is. At least in the US where I live. 90% is the vast majority of hospitals. Not familiar with other countries. In any case, if your hospital is one that doesn’t, nothing is stopping you from doing it.

@tuvya68 @BillJr212 @RealPostFolder I will amend my statement to say that about 90% of hospitals do this, with some now recording them electronically rather than with ink. But 90% is the vast majority. If your hospital is in the 10% then as a parent of multiples you’d want to do it yourself for this exact reason.

@tuvya68 @BillJr212 @RealPostFolder I happen to live in NJ, but every hospital does this. It’s a safety identification measure. And no…not indistinguishable. Ppl may have similar prints whether related or not but not exactly the same.

@tuvya68 @RealPostFolder “Fingerprint minutiae are the minute characteristics of friction ridge skin that make the forensic use of fingerprint identification possible: even two people who have the same number of arches, loops, and whorls on their fingers will have different configurations of minutiae.”

@failurebee @RealPostFolder NO. Every single person’s fingerprints are unique. Identical twins/triplets may have the same DNA but they do NOT have the same prints. For the love of crackers, read a book or even google for 3 seconds. This is exactly why fingerprints would be useful in this situation.

Definitely Not Al Gore 🇺🇲🇺🇦🇵🇸
Democrats redrew two states, only after letting the voters decide. Republicans have redrawn, so far, six states, without a single vote from the public. Spare me your bullshit outrage, congressman.
Steve Scalise@SteveScalise

Just so we’re clear: Democrats want to rewrite the Virginia Constitution because the State Supreme Court rejected their unconstitutional maps. For a party that loves to chant “No Kings,” this is VERY undemocratic. nytimes.com/2026/05/10/us/…

@Autistic_Lauren Hate them. Necessary evil, of course. But absolutely the worst. The music, the lights, the different temperatures in all areas, constant sounds. Just continuous sensory overload. The stress of bagging your stuff after checkout and not being given enough time to do it.

Put a rock in your bird bath. Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators need water too, and they drown in birdbaths because there's nowhere to land. A few rocks or pebbles breaking the surface gives them a place to perch and drink without ending up at the bottom. Takes 30 seconds and saves hundreds of bees a season. Got a bird bath? Go put a rock in it.

@KitPeacock @upshine3 It’s a terrible existence. We try to mask ourselves so that ppl don’t attack us. Then we get told we “don’t look that autistic” (wtf does that mean anyways). If we admit it disables us & show the symptoms then we get treated poorly & judged. There is no winning.

@upshine3 You could make the same argument however that you have a job and didn't lose it, which is more than 70% of autistic people. We can't really win. If we manage to adapt to manage work we're fakers, and if we can't we're scroungers.
