Nb I am skeptical whether having a pen that reads for you for non-dyslexic children is actually helpful long term.

I find it very hard to believe that all schools are doing this, I've certainly never heard of the ones round here doing it - and if that is the case, that's a substantial disparity in dyslexia/SEND care from one school to another.

Query: are electronic pens that read out loud for your child standard equipment in state primaries? One of the parents of a kid who is leaving our indy class to go state says all the kids at the (posh area) state school they're moving to get reading pens from day 1.

@antoniabance You tax my autistic child £2-3k a year to go to school. I'm a single mum and had to increase my hours 20% to make ends meet since you came in. 22% of my child's class have now moved to state schools because of you, making a net loss to the taxpayer.

Let’s be clear what Labour is doing. 1) taking away individual assessment for EHCP which will mean SEND are left no school access 2) removing tribunal meaning no accountability 3) giving the public no vote (accept ballot box!) it’s quite frankly, sick and probably illegal #SEND
Eduardo Reyes@edreyesjourno

Government admits key final decisions on the SEND Tribunal have already been made, despite consultation on its SEND reforms being open till 18 May. It's at odds with ministers' statements on the consultation engaging people 'before any final decision'. lawgazette.co.uk/news/key-final…

@robprogressive The butcher, baker and candlestick maker don't appear to be paying any tax, whereas the bank does.

If you give a £50 note to a butcher, who then buys from the baker, who then buys from the candlestick maker, it’s worth £50 to each of them, and after 50 transactions it’s still worth £50 If you pay by card, the bank takes 1.5%, 3% or even 5%. The butcher, baker and candlestick maker all have to pay the bank for the privilege of transacting, and by 50 transactions… The bank has the whole £50 in fees. This is the real reason they want a cashless society. Cash is freedom, but it’s also trillions the banks can NOT take from you

@daniellismore Hopefully refereephobes do the same thing. People are learning that being Referee is biological. Referee people are born referee, and are eventually able to live authentically, just like trans people. But bigots attack referee people even more than they attack trans people.

@Dmdav1 Between uni and medicine I have come to realise that there's almost no cohort of people that are evil and scary if you treat them like a normal person. Like when I was 18 I was scared of drug addicts but so long as they don't turn up high most of them are fine to talk to.

I now workwith uni students, this is my advice . You will never meet such a mix of people with different life experiences. It’s a great opportunity to learn critical thinking skills which is why, historically any government against higher ed, have never been on the good side.

@kevinxu Personally think you should use college as a time to expand your mind and make friends, not maximize your market value. Major in something that you're passionate about.

I'm saving this anecdote for the next person that whines that it's not fair that she as an independent school kid is better at maths than another kid who did not voluntarily get up at 5.15am to do maths for fun.

This morning my 7yo got up at 5.15am voluntarily to practice a maths app they are doing at school, to beat her friend at points, on my crappy old laptop. I didn't make her, and school didn't make her, and you can get similar apps for free online.

@AnnMSinnott GCs bombarded M+S with abuse last year over that fabricated bra incident. They are 100% within their rights to stop providing any section labelled solely as 'women's' in response to your behaviour, to protect their staff and customers from false allegations, threats and abuse.

M&S needs single-sex changing rooms, say campaigners Maya Forstater of Sex Matters said: “How astonishing that M&S, clothier to Britain’s middle-aged women, has decided that pretending no one needs single-sex changing rooms, after providing them for more than 100 years, is better than possibly having to say no to a man pretending to be a woman.” telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/1…

@windupgemma @Emma_twam Clearly only men are allowed to think and have opinions, women like us should just shut up and do as we're told, or be demoted to 'man', trolled, threatened and sued into submission. How feminist 🙄

This was the original advert for the Women’s boxing course that sparked our letter to @KingsTrust It is shocking that after clear advice on the law and safety in sport, the charity decided to exclude ALL females rather than clarify the course was for females only

TransgenderTrend@Transgendertrd

The charity has cancelled all courses for girls only. These are disadvantaged girls, told by this charity that they don't count. King's charity cancelled course for girls instead of banning males. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

@annamlulis The only way to enforce a criminal charge is to forensically investigate every stillbirth and define precisely what a pregnant person legally can and can't do eg drink alcohol, take drugs, smoke, vape etc.

This is what a 34 week old baby looks like outside the womb. The UK just voted in favor of killing an unborn child at this age. For no reason, just because someone wants to. They call it “reproductive rights” because they refuse to call it what it is: murder.

@speakoutsister And if girls don't feel confident saying no, let's fix that. I know (biological) girls who are over twice my weight. If I fight them, I'm going to get mashed.

@speakoutsister Reading it, it doesn't look like a single trans person had even signed up. Besides which, you don't go around punching people without consent in boxing training whatever gender you are. If someone is uncomfortable fighting anyone, they only need to say so.

@Celsiexx2167 @speakoutsister Why don't you work with other GCs to build new sporting opportunities for women and girls that are trans exclusive instead of threatening existing ones who were happy with inclusion and then calling them cowards for being intimidated by you?

@speakoutsister It didn't need to be cancelled. Just made clear it was only for girls and young women. Not people who identify as ..... but protecting the safety of girls and women might hurt feelings, so they took the option that affected the very people it was intended to help - cowards.

@KitPeacock @doctor_rahmeh Definitely no easy answer. And if we wanted to make life better for mothers, and parents in general, messing with abortion is way down the list of issues, after ruinous taxation, housing costs, and the state generally getting in the way.

The UK House of Lords has just legalised abortion up to birth. Women can now end the life of their unborn baby at any stage, for any reason, without legal consequences. A truly dark day for Britain.

@IsabelPat1886 @doctor_rahmeh I actually don't think there is a perfect answer here. But I can't see women racing to have a late abortion. Mind you I find it mind blowing that the abortion rate now is 1:3 pregnancies.

@IsabelPat1886 @doctor_rahmeh The way I see it is abortion at term is very bad. Having a police investigation on top of a natural stillbirth is also very bad. A natural stillbirth is far more common than a deliberate late term attempt to abort.
