@just2goodYT @DrewBricks Lego has become less of a real toy and more of a price-gatekept hobby. Every playset is overpriced, super limited, and not even fun for kids to play with. Quantity over quality too, so many huge models with so many stickers and minimal piece innovation since a decade ago

ah yes it's so cool when lego releases a great set that could go for like $20-$30 but only makes it available for a week - and only available as a promo when you buy a set that's $650

Xenocrisis is a very challenging game! Even the developer said the first boss was perhaps too difficult, but the challenge is perfect for serious retro gamers It took me a while to work out my own method for safely beating the first boss. Please check out my strategy!

@PixelCNinja I agree though people say other games beat it but for me it's still my favorite beat em up of all time. Paprium fell short on gameplay for me. I still prefer 2 over 1,3 and 4. I'm enjoying @CannonRetro Metro Siege demo currently.

Streets of Rage 2 on the Mega Drive still feels unmatched. Those tight controls and the soundtrack absolutely slaps. Beat 'em up perfection.

@MuseumCommodore Another interesting but sad fact, the voice overs for all the series were done by Lynette Reade, who was born on June 8, 1946 in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, UK. She was an actress. She died on July 11, 2013 when trying to rescue a swan and was hit by a car. RIP

5 Facts you didn't want to know about Alien Breed for the Commodore Amiga Alien Breed (1991) is a landmark Amiga title that defined Team17’s early style: tense, atmospheric, and brutally addictive. It was perfect for co-op gaming with mates. Programmed by Andreas Tadic and Peter Tuleby, with graphics by Rico Holmes and iconic music by Allister Brimble. 1. Top-down run-and-gun sci-fi shooter heavily inspired by Aliens: You (and a friend in co-op) explore an infested space station, blasting xenomorph-like aliens (I originally thought they were aliens) while managing limited ammo and health. It mixes fast arcade action with tense resource management. 2. Team17’s breakthrough hit: This was only their second game, after Full Contact, and their first full-price release. It put the UK developer and publisher on the map, before they became famous for the Worms series. 3. Extremely well-received on Amiga: Launched to critical acclaim, with many magazines scoring it 85–91% (CVG 91%, Zero 91%, CU Amiga 90%, Amiga Action 87%). It was usually praised for its smooth multi-directional scrolling, atmosphere, co-op play, and technical excellence on the Amiga. 4. Infamously difficult: The original game was notoriously tough and short, with only six levels. Because of this, Team17 later released Alien Breed Special Edition 92, with rebalanced difficulty, extra levels, and various fixes. In my opinion, it’s a much more enjoyable game. 5. No official Commodore 64 version: it was developed primarily for the Amiga, and the Commodore 64 never got a conversion :( Would you have played it? I would have big time! Still one of the best top-down shooters ever made on the Amiga. Who else remembers the panic when the ammo ran low and the aliens kept coming?

@dantemendes It's a, nice game but it's graphics are jarring for the amiga, which I maintain has the most distinct look of any computer /console to date.

WRONG WAY DRIVER for the Commodore Amiga was coded in C++20 as a test project (by Pink^Abyss) to see if it would work on the Amiga 500 (it did). Looks and feels like a modern indie mini-game and is quite polished, featuring neat music and stylish art. #AmigaReposts #gamedev

@TheMekon_Venus Ah!!! Is that Hugo the troll? I remember seeing this on a kid’s programme where kids would call in to play it and use there phones to press certain buttons to move Hugo around. It was amazing to watch at the time. I cannot for the life of me remember what the show was called.

I sometimes feel like the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 were the last “true” console gaming systems. Starting with the PlayStation 3, things began to overlap more with PC, and it started to feel a bit like a PC-like platform. Of course, exclusives still helped set it apart from PC, but it didn’t quite have the same unique identity that the PS1 and PS2 had. Maybe that’s why I still really love those two systems to this day.
