To mark @HeritageWeek, @RCSILibrary are unveiling a newly catalogued and digitised archive collection from one of Ireland’s most significant pharmacy chains, Hayes, Conyngham & Robinson. Founded in 1897, it grew to become one of the largest Irish-owned pharmacy chains in Ireland.

Dr. Kathleen Lynn and Constance Markievicz were two prolific Irish revolutionary women. Both women originally came from aristocratic backgrounds but traded this lifestyle to join the Irish Citizen's Army and the fight for an Irish republic. #womenshistory #womeninhistory

Dr Lynn was a brave medical pioneer going from being perceived as a loyal medical establishment figure to rebel socialist and activist in just one day..Easter Monday 1916. One of the first female medical graduates of @ucddublin, champion of infants health and TB vaccination.

Day 29 #Archive30. Our #UCD MA Archives intern catalogued the #ArchiveCollection of the Convalescent Home Stillorgan, containing minute books & financial records. CHS was founded in 1862 by Sir Joseph Napier & his wife as a place of rest & recovered for those of limited means 🤒

Day 18 of #Archive30 is #ArchiveAdvice. Our physicians give out lots of advice, these two prescriptions from Sir William Wilde (1815–1876), ophthalmologist and father of poet Oscar Wilde, were issued for eye conditions and digestive issues.

Day 4 #Archive30 #ArchiveConservation is a perpetual concern for museums. This 1885 letter from T Cranfield of the Fine Art Repository describes the portraits in #RCPI as being “in very bad condition…very dirty”. Thanks to the efforts of RCPI, this is happily not the case today!

Day 3 #Archive30. John Fleetwood, a physician with many historical & literary interests, often spoke on Radio Éireann. Here are examples of his medical history broadcasts, ‘The Root of Irish Medicine’. He also contributed regularly to #RTERADIO1 Sunday Miscellany #SoundandVision
