Ireland’s population is up by a million since 2006, so why have garda numbers barely changed? buff.ly/qjDYPQz

@IrishTimes Another sad day in Irish political life when we see a politician & mother not long back from maternity leave, seek to strip the few remaining safeguards from mothers in crises & from the unborn baby

With just over a week to go until the March for Life in Dublin, we’re counting on you to be with us on the day! The march is far more than just another date in the calendar - this annual event is making a real difference in strengthening the pro-life movement, energising volunteers, and reminding our political leaders that the call for alternatives to abortion to be prioritised cannot be ignored. As well as being present on the day, please spread the word to family and friends to be part of this great day - Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May, at St Stephen’s Green at 2pm. It’s a chance for all of us to stand in solidarity, to be encouraged, and to play our part in creating change.  We’re really looking forward to seeing you there! #marchforlife #prolife #chooselife #endabortion

This is very very bad news. Why does @LadiesFootball hate women so much? Why is the LGAA risking the safety of women on the pitch? Why is it exposing young girls to penises in the showers? Why is it doubling down against all the best advice & practices of most sporting bodies in the world, including the Olympics? Why is Ireland once again the total outlier?
GaelsForFairPlay@GaelsFairPlay

We are feeling very despondent tonight. On the same day the International Olympic Committee spells out, in black and white, that the inclusion of males in female sport is unfair and unsafe, @LadiesFootball announces it is introducing new rules that will not only give a greater competitive advantage to males, but which will allow them to tackle female players even more robustly. And here's the real kicker: "From 2027, the new playing rules must be implemented across all competitions from Under 13 to adult." Children - girls - as young as 13 will now be exposed to even greater risk of injury as a result of the LGFA's policy of male inclusion. This is a blatant failure to safeguard. Where is the Irish government? Where is Sport Ireland? Why are the three Gaelic Games associations so slow to act on overwhelming scientfic evidence? Why does fairness and safety for women and girls who play Gaelic football and camogie matter so little?

This is heartbreaking 💔 The baby cries and says, "Mama," and the two men who purchased the infant via a surrogacy contract laugh... because the baby has been deprived of a mother
