Due to my “advanced maternal age” and now officially 40wks pregnant, my doctors have strongly suggested I get induced.
So that’s happening TONIGHT!!!
Wish me luck, ladies and gentlemen. I hope to be bringing home an itty bitty baby soon.

@WonderWomaNinja I think I would have gone naturally right at 41 wks like I did my first. My doctor made a big deal about the slightly elevated risks of stillbirth

@DeeQueen100 Just drink midwives brew. Your age doesn’t have anything to do with when you go into labor. Holy smokes. My last 2 after 40 I went 42 weeks.

@BarterIsBest I’m 42, and I think anything above 35 is considered “advanced.” My goal is to not use any epidural so let’s see how this goes

Back when I was employed and EHR was non-existent...I transcribed an OB H&P. Pt was mid-30's. "Advanced maternal age." I about spit my coffee out. I did laugh out loud. My mom was mid 40's when I was born. Pitocin wasn't a thing then. You were lucky to get mask for pain.
