@sanya_sharma49 Immense corruption of the federation. Very shit scouting and development of players. We are physically very far away from the global standard. Our players are not even good enough to go to any other league other than the ISL. And lastly hunger. Players here are not hungry enough

@soham_nayak04 To be honest, it's the level we are at. Our players are dogshit. Our footballing structure is in shambles.
We used to be good back in the day, till the 1960s, but after that, we very much became complacent. Other nations grew fast, and Indian football sank under corruption.

The biggest event in all of sports starts today.
48 teams. 104 matches. 3 countries. Half the planet watching.
India: 1.4 billion people, zero appearances. Ever.
We produce CEOs of Google and Microsoft, chess world champions, and half of Silicon Valley’s engineers.
But not 11 footballers who can qualify.
what’s the actual bottleneck here?

@7negiashish Comparing this Khalid Jamal's side with Igor Stimac felt like we had Pep Guardiola previously.
Absolutely disgusting, fucking terrorist-level haram ball shit.

This is the first time in the last 15 years that I have struggled to feel connected to the #IndianFootball Team. We have played some of our worst football in recent games and I genuinely don't know how this can continue.
What an S730 defence India have to secure a draw against the world-class higher-ranked Tajikistan side as part of the preparation for the SAFF "World" Championship.

@KantInEastt I'm from West Bengal and this was my first time being out during ram navami because of college. Literally the main junction of the city was blocked for this nonsense, public transport was almost invisible. Not gonna lie it felt like a Muslim festival with orange colour.

Man, getting knocked out of a Cup SF should be a cause for disappointment, but I’m out here the happiest I’ve been all season.
And I truly do mean that.

@reshadrahman I would rather have ferran for a whole season in exchange for a new backline, they are officially finished.

Do you know what Dipu Chandra Das is "alleged" to have said?
“All religions are the same and God/Allah has many names.”
Hung from a tree and set on fire.
Because apparently this is not acceptable speech.
Do you think these people can de debated with?
Are they rational actors?
What is the difference between them and terrorists?
What is India going to do if these people grab power? It is quite likely that they might - the show of repetitive force is to perhaps derail the electoral process.
Is India going to be a spectator to another Hindu genocide in the neighbourhood?
The signs are ominous.

@AITCofficial TMC IS BOUND TO FALL, EITHER RED IS COMING OR SAFFRON, BUT NOT THESE FUCKERS ANYMORE

What occurred at Salt Lake Stadium today was the outcome of serious mismanagement by the private organisers entrusted with the event. While the State Government provided the necessary permissions, the responsibility for on-ground arrangements, ticketing and crowd rested entirely with the organisers.
This is particularly evident when viewed against Salt Lake Stadium’s proven track record as a FIFA-accredited venue that has successfully hosted numerous large-scale events.
Smt. @mamataofficial has taken prompt cognisance of the issue and ordered a detailed inquiry. The police will also investigate whether any deliberate attempts were made to provoke unrest by a certain group of people.
Such failures by organisers, and any efforts to defame Bengal, will not be overlooked. Stern action will be taken.

An Open Letter to Lionel #Messi
Dear Leo,
#Kolkata is known for many things, but above all, this city breathes football.
Here, football is not a sport that begins at kick-off and ends at the final whistle. It is a pulse. A habit. A faith passed from one generation to the next. This is the city that has always lived between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, where rivalries divide homes but football unites souls.
When people gather at stadiums, they cheer for their teams…but every cheer is larger than the match itself. Every chant, every tear, every hoarse throat has kept football alive in this city for decades. Even when trophies were scarce, even when glory felt distant, Kolkata never stopped believing.
In the narrow gullies of this city, in dusty grounds tucked between buildings, a little child dribbles a ball barefoot. He knows he may never play at the highest level. He knows he may never reach where you have reached. And yet, he wears your jersey. Not because he dreams of fame, but because you taught him how to dream. That is not passion. That is absolute surrender to an emotion.
On 18 December 2022, when you lifted the World Cup, Kolkata did not sleep. The city erupted into joy that night. People poured onto the streets wearing your jersey, waving flags, shouting your name into the sky - hoping, somehow, their voices would travel across oceans and reach you. That night, Leo, Kolkata celebrated as if one of its own had finally come home.
And yet, when you came to this city, you did not see any of that. Today, when you arrived, there was chaos. Confusion. Mismanagement. Faults of a few that thousands of fans ended up paying for. You left, and hearts broke quietly. The disappointment was not because you didn’t stay but because you couldn’t see us the way we truly are.
Now you are in #Hyderabad. And as we see the warmth, the order, the celebration there, the feeling grows heavier. Not out of envy but out of grief for what we missed. For what you missed.
Those who built walls between you and the people should be sidelined. But the love should not be unseen.
Leo, Kolkata is not perfect. But it is honest. It loves fiercely. It loves forever. This city does not ask for much - only a moment, a glance, a chance to show you what you mean to us. To let you see the streets that once ran wild for you, the children who still wear your name on their backs, the city that once shouted itself hoarse just for you.
Please come back.
Not for an event.
Not for an appearance.
But to feel the love…raw, imperfect, and real.
Come back, Leo.
Kolkata is waiting.
With hope, regret, and endless love,
Someone from the city that breathes football, yet sad tonight !

@HPhobiaWatch The Persian club isn’t a copy of the Indian gada. India has older mace training, yes, but there's zero evidence Persia copied it. Both cultures come from the same Indo-Iranian roots and used similar weapons, so club training evolved in parallel, not by imitation.
