Exactly how tired are you, a non-Georgian, of the lack of resolution to the Georgia crisis? Poll below.
Marika Mikiashvili 🇬🇪🇺🇦🇪🇺@Mikiashvili_M

Today, I realized just how many people on Twitter/X are waiting for an opportunity for the Georgian protesting community to get tangled into some controversy so that then they can put words in our mouths, overgeneralize to demonize the entire movement, or lash out at Georgian men. I get it, people, just like many of you are very tired of the war in Ukraine, many of you are very tired of why Georgians wouldn’t successfully make a regime change already. This might come as a surprise to you but we are more tired and embattled than you are. And sure, who cares about structural and economic reasons of the situation in Georgia (like the fact that Ivanishvili alone has wealth that totals around 30% of Georgia’s GDP), blame it all on Georgian men finding “easy ways” to assert manhood. In her post of days ago, when the news was very fresh, my friend Mariam underlined here that the woman was allegedly attacked not for speaking Russian, which is how it was communicated in Russian media, but that the confrontation was allegedly about messing with a Georgian wedding, such as, allegedly, through pouring urine on the table. She explicitly underlines “eyewitness claims” too. Now a respected foreign journalist, who is not remotely even the reason why I am posting all this, accuses Mariam of “tacitly” justifying the attack for having stated that it was not about “simply” speaking Russian, meaning there could have been a reason to excuse this. And he questions Mariam’s human rights activism credentials for that. I can bet that, as a journalist, he knows that getting facts right is important, and if his editor corrected him that an altercation wasn’t about a language, he would fix that to cover a story truthfully. But it’s a problem when Mariam tries to get the facts correct.

Today, I can see that many people in the West are surprised, impressed, and perhaps even a little jealous of how directly Ukrainians are involved in decision-making and governing their country. Their president actually listens to them, engages in dialogue, and has an organic, natural conversation with the nation. Zelenskyy didn't just dismiss General Oleksandr Syrskyi as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - after extensive discussions, consultations, and advice from his generals, he appointed the very person the Ukrainian people had been demanding. Unfortunately, Syrskyi didn't resign on his own, which would have allowed him to save face and taken some of the pressure off the president. That would have been the decent thing to do - but he never did. I also hope many world leaders will remember this moment before criticizing or attacking the Ukrainian president for his policies or his unwillingness to give up in this war. He acts the way he does because he has a direct mandate from, and the support of, the Ukrainian people. To preserve that trust - and the strength it gives his leadership - there is one more decision left to make: reinstate Mykhailo Fedorov as Minister of Defense so he can finish the reform. For those who think Fedorov would become too popular and eventually compete with Zelenskyy for political support, the reality is that things would be much tougher for Fedorov. The support of the Ukrainian people is an extraordinary vote of confidence (credit) - one that comes with enormous expectations. Fedorov would have one job: to deliver this reform. All eyes would be on him. That is an incredibly difficult position to be in, and I respect him if he is willing to take on that responsibility. And to President Zelenskyy, I would say this: listening to your people and changing your mind when necessary is a sign of strength, not weakness. It takes character and wisdom not only to hear your people, but to respond directly to their demands and their voice. And Thank God we have a very wise nation.

Remember who consistently supported democratic Ukraine from the start. Remember who consistently supported fascist Russia. Remember who switched to supporting democratic Ukraine once it looked like fascist Russia might be losing. It’s a litmus test of political character.

Congratulations to Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi on his appointment as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a breath of fresh air and a new source of hope in the fight of free people for freedom and justice. It is the voice of change that could no longer be ignored. Now, the high expectations of the Ukrainian people must be met with a clear vision for bringing the War of Independence to a successful conclusion, a strong team and decisive action focused on saving the lives of our service members, accelerating the robotization of the battlefield, delivering asymmetric strikes and exhausting Russia’s economy. I also called General Oleksandr Syrskyi to thank him for the defense of the Kyiv region, the Kharkiv counteroffensive and other historic battles. These achievements are already an important part of Ukraine’s history. But now we must move even faster, write the next chapters of that history and correct the mistakes of the past. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

I have decided that Mykhailo Drapatyi will become the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with Mykhailo, Yevhenii Khmara, and Pavlo Palisa, we determined how the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be reconfigured. It is a fact that Oleksandr Syrskyi delivered results for Ukraine in the defense of Kyiv, the Kharkiv offensive, and the Kursk operation. We have come a long way, Ukraine's defense continues, and every warrior must be treated with dignity. I am grateful to Oleksandr Syrskyi and to every one of our warriors for Ukraine's strong positions on the front. I am grateful to Mykhailo Drapatyi for sharing this vision. Today, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Andrii Hnatov, and I discussed future service formats and the proper handover of duties. We all want the same thing: to defeat the enemy and create the conditions – on the front line and through pressure on Russia – that would allow us to force Russia into peace. Tomorrow, we will formalize all of these decisions. Ukraine must emerge from this situation stronger, and it will be harder for Russia. Glory to Ukraine!

Just experienced my first air raid in Ukraine. Sirens blaring. This is everyday for every Ukrainian. I feel like such an asshole for minimizing the struggle of Ukrainians for the last 5 years. I often said I don’t care. Looking back, that wasn’t very nice of me to say. There are people in Ukraine who have to run to a bomb shelter everyday and some of us had the audacity to say Russia wasn’t wrong because we believed the lie that Ukraine is a country full of Nazi sympathizers. We have been so propagandized by Russia and we don’t even realize it. Air sirens could very well be the future of America if we don’t start demanding our lawmakers crack down on communism and multipolarity. We won’t have Trump forever and the axis of evil is moving fast.

Guys there’s an important fundraiser for FPV drones for the 80th brigade. They’re quite pricey but I believe in our collective power and invite all of you to join to make more equipment go boom. Link in the replies!!

Whatever choice Zelensky makes we need to clearly remember that he wanted to do something different that was unpopular with citizens and the military and it is only public pressure which forced him to reconsider. 7 years in power can be a long time for anyone. Ukrainians need to keep an eye on him.

It's 600 consecutive days of uninterrupted #GeorgiaProtests I know many wonder what we have achieved. Well, an unprecedented international isolation and a very fragile and unstable domestic consolidation of the regime, albeit ruthless. (And thank God they have no oil or any other form of self-sustained economic dominance). A viable political alternative will change a lot. But it’s hard with mass imprisonment of leadership (awaiting again in mere weeks) and 0 financial resources. 📷 Levan Zazadze

🇺🇸🚀 Reuters: Lockheed Martin announced a lower-cost Patriot interceptor on Monday as militaries seek cheaper ways to counter drones and missiles, while defense contractors face competition from startups making low-cost weapons that can be produced at scale. Lockheed said its new PAC-3 Adapted Capability Effector, or ACE, missile would cost less than half as much as its PAC-3 MSE interceptors, which cost roughly $4 million per missile. Initial production could start within 36 months, the company said, adding that it plans to develop and manufacture the weapon with U.S. and European industry partners.

We agree — it looks beautiful! Now the only question is: are you just showing the missiles, or are they already being launched at Russian targets? ☺️

While allies discussed the impossibility of controlling the Black Sea, Ukraine took control of it. Allies bought oil, Ukraine bombed refineries. Now allies avoid sanctioning the shadow fleet, so Ukraine sinks it. Maybe we should stop pretending we are in the driving seat here.

Meanwhile, Russian Z-fascists on Telegram are seriously convinced that the protests against the dismissal of the defense minister in Kyiv are taking place in a square named after the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco, rather than after the Ukrainian national poet Ivan Franko.
