No matter where you land on De Zerbi’s comments on Greenwood, and if they should disqualify him for this job, one thing is clear: He will have to address them when he arrives. If not, they’ll act as a distraction, and stop large parts of the fanbase from ever getting on board.

@simonyemane No, I agree with you. But there's a reason media and pundits don't talk about it and there's a hush around it, like there was with Partey at Arsenal. Greenwood wasn't convicted. So the media can't really imply that he is. Even if we all know what he is.

@georgeachillea How does £7.75m profit get calculated? If we use the £47.5m reported fee we paid (which is plus add ons), and then amortise by 2yrs using straight line amortisation then we arrive at a Net Book Value of £31.67m for the player.

I’m not an accountant for a football club but I’m sure the Johnson transfer would look like this on the books: - Bought for £47.5m spread across 5 years = £9.5m cost per year - He’s been here 2.5 years so would assume remaining book value = £23.75m - Sale of £35m comes in as instant injection so creates a “profit” of £11.25m - Forest also get 10% sell on fee = £3.5m - Spurs “profit” = £11.25m-£3.5m = £7.75m Looks positive on books for PSR so no concerns there for anyone worried about the fee

Rating our new signings starts to the season (so far); Kudus - 8/10 Been very impressed. Only thing that was missing from his performances were goals & they're now starting to come. 4 assists in 7 league games already btw. Palhinha - 8.5/10 For a loan, I think he's been near enough perfect. On the ball he's limited but everyone knew that anyway. Off the ball however, he's been one of the best in the league for me. Tackles like a beast, positions himself very well while being solid on the press. He's even got 3 goals. I can't believe some people haven't warmed to him yet. I apologised about not wanting him straight after the City game. Xavi Simons - 6.5/10 Xavi joined on deadline day so his rating would almost certainly be a lot higher if he had a pre season like the other two. It also is dependent on his position. On the left I'd give him a 5.5 but through the middle he's been a 7.5. When you mix them you get 6.5. Continue to play Xavi through the middle & no doubt he'll be one of the best players in the league in just a matter of months. Goal involvements will start to come aswell, of course got that corner assist vs West Ham for Sarr. I wanna see him get assists aswell as goals from open play & when he's the 10, it's just a matter of time. Huge faith in Xavi. Randal Kolo Muani & Kota Takai are ungradable due to their significant lack of minutes. Hopefully both will be available once the intl break ends.

@georgebann @JKingburn To be fair, we probably don't know until one of (or both) are missing at some point. But truth remains, since VDV joined in 2023. We always look better and more solid when him and Romero are partnered. And they have competent full backs either side.

@georgebann @JKingburn How do we differentiate our defensive improvements between new structure and the fact we simply have our strongest back 4 available? Last season, with VDV and Romero in the league we gave up 1.15 xG per 90. Basically identical so far this season.
