True, but we often see overstated savings. If your vehicle using E10 achieves 30 MPG, you pay $4/gallon, and you drive 15k miles per year, your cost is approximately $2000. If the same vehicle uses E15, it’ll see a dip in MPG (the 30 drops to 29.49). But you’ll also see a dip in price (sometimes $.20 to $.25 lower, so let’s say $3.75/gallon). That comes to $1907.62 to drive the same number of miles. That’s only an annual savings of $92.38.

Very expensive ramifications. There's the personality responsibility angle here, but we should be able to trust our leaders.

People complain about independents running in Nebraska while our entire Unicameral is supposedly “non-partisan.” Everyone knows party politics still control everything behind the scenes anyway. Nebraska has the worst of both systems, partisan politics without partisan transparency. The Unicameral experiment is over. Nebraska’s Legislature struggles to get major issues resolved while lawmakers hide behind the “non-partisan” label despite obvious party alliances. Time to move to a transparent partisan bicameral system and stop pretending.

@Farmer_Brian123 @TeamPillen We're all for choice, but folks need to understand what they're getting into by using E15. Our leaders are treating year-round E15 as some kind of money saving panacea that anyone can use. And that's just plain false.

@Farmer_Brian123 @TeamPillen Many cars built between 2001 and 2011. Just to name a few: Subaru, BMW, Hyundai/Kia, Toyota/Lexus, Honda. Drivers must consult their owners manuals to be sure. And don't forget Motorcycles, boats, all-terrain vehicles, small engines for lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc.

@RuralRadioNet More lies from @SenatorFischer. "Any vehicle manufactured after 2001 you can put ethanol in." Sure, you can PUT ethanol in any vehicle, but it'll harm a not small segment of them. Check your manual. "Approved" by EPA ≠ safe or recommended for your vehicle.
