Lol y'all need to stop pretending that you don't understand what someone means when they say that. Elden Ring is not the same as God of War. You can play Elden Ring from start to finish and never interact with the vast majority of the narrative. It's not a crucial part of the gameplay, and is very tedious to access, which is why so many people have to watch YouTube lore breakdowns to understand it. You cannot play games like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Metal Gear etc. without journeying through the linear narrative. Gameplay and story progression are inextricably linked in those games. These souls-like games give you a map with bosses for you to beat and you never have to ask why you're doing any of it. With Bloodborne, I had no clue who the main character was, who he was fighting and why. Meanwhile, with story-driven games, you cannot progress through the game without figuring out the why behind your actions. This is the difference.

If I see one more person say Elden Ring has no story, I’m gonna crash out.
