I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident in Kapchorwa that claimed the lives of innocent pupils. 💔 To the parents, the school, the teachers, and the friends of the deceased: please accept my heartfelt condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this unimaginable time. As a country, we must do more to protect our children. This pain is too much to bear. I therefore call for stricter measures: 1. All school trips should be formally approved by the Ministry of Education and Sports. 2. Stringent vehicle inspections and roadworthiness checks must be mandatory for all vehicles transporting children. 3. Driver fitness and background checks should be enforced for anyone driving children. 4. Police escort vehicles should be considered for school trips involving long distances. Our country loses nothing by putting in place strict measures to secure the lives of our children. What we lose is when we fail to act. Once again, I send my love, thoughts and prayers to the families, the school, and all loved ones of the pupils who perished. May the little souls rest in eternal peace.

The truth is people working on northern bypass must be investigated. The road has been closed for over a month causing people to stay in jam for hours yet it's less than two kilometres being worked on. Justice must be served.
