My new favorite addon I was recommended to try out is "WeeklyKnowledge"!! It lets me easily track weekly profession knowledge points across all my characters. Highly recommend if you're like me and have a bunch of alts! 💕

@CodeWithKyrian I came from CodeIgniter back then and used to love Laravel, but these last couple of years I don't even consider Laravel for most projects. It's bloated with non-PHP stuff and constantly trying to get you to use another Laravel product or package. I miss the original Laravel

It may be a hot take, and may not even directly answer the question you asked, but I've noticed what feels like a growing gap between the PHP and Laravel communities. Laravel has such a strong identity now that sometimes it feels like the community revolves around Laravel itself and not PHP anymore. Like, remove Laravel and suddenly PHP is "less interesting." or something like that. Don’t get me wrong, I love love Laravel (I'm a Laravel dev myself), and Taylor + the team have done incredible work. But I do feel we're slowly seeing less cross-pollination. Things like fewer PHP-first ideas, fewer general-purpose packages, and more Laravel-only ecosystems. Even the way some community members talk....its just hard to express it but I hope I'm getting the idea across I just hope we can find a way to bridge that again cos modern PHP itself has grown so much, and there's still so much room to build beyond just the framework.

I think we, as Laravel/PHP community, have a problem. I don't see many new/young devs starting with Laravel. I also heard the same topic expressed by Taylor, Jeffrey, Nuno in podcasts. Question: what can I/we do to promote PHP/Laravel to outsiders? Let's brainstorm.

@0x15f I'm always worried about using Laravel again. Stopped using it many years ago when the bloat started creeping.

I want to drop Laravel so badly, it’s become far more of a pain in the ass than benefit. Love the framework but not for anything but CRUD applications

@ste_bau I stopped using Laravel many years ago once it started introducing JS bloat. Still makes me sad today because I used to love the Laravel times

I really hope that Vue 3 is the last big change in API that happens for a long time (5+ years). I'm so tired of this constant JavaScript churn. Always introducing new ways of doing the same things, over and over. Can we please settle here for a while? The Laravel code you see today so closely resembles the Laravel code of 2013 -- and that's something we should appreciate and treasure. It's already solved the problems it's set out to solve. In the Laravel backend, we've moved on from reinventing the same wheel every 3 years

@jh3yy 1) A button that has fluid hitting it from the top and going around it and dripping below 2) A button that rotates and then opens like a vault door 3) A button that changes/transforms shape into a "splat" shape

@RmeetsH Scrolling on mobile is behaving oddly. Scrolling gets locked to certain points and you have to swipe multiple times to get back up/down.

@laracasts It behaves oddly on a phone. The scrolling gets locked once you get to the button, and you have to do a second swipe to scroll back up. Same issue when going down after going up.

Is it still possible to use @laravelphp without all the added frontend stuff? Like... Oldschool web? No bundling? No CSS library? No JS framework?

@ericlbarnes We're born and grown into it. In Denmark we leave babies out in the cold in their strollers (spelling?) while doing other things, so they can be stronger against the cold :P

It's like 19 degrees today in freedom units, and I can't deal with it. I don't know how you people who live in cold climates do it. 🥶

From #StateOfTheWord: WordPress powers 58.5% of all websites in the Japanese language, and has an impressive 83% CMS market share. That's almost 31x the nearest competitor, Shopify, with just 2.7%. #WordPress

I'm going to start streaming development every day. My stream computer is windows w/ graphics card / camera / etc. My programming computer is Linux w/ my heavily modified setup. What's the best way to get code from laptop to my stream without it being on same PC?
