I am writing as a Tampa Bay resident and a father — who respectfully urges your support for funding a new stadium for the Rays.   My son was diagnosed at age 4 with Selective Mutism, a severe anxiety disorder affecting approximately 1 in 140 children. Children with Selective Mutism are fully capable of speech, but their anxiety becomes so overwhelming in certain social situations that they are physically unable to speak. Common symptoms include the inability to speak; freezing or appearing expressionless in social settings; wearing oversized clothes to hide; and avoiding activities other children enjoy.   For almost four years, my son lived with these challenges in full. He refused to speak to anyone outside our immediate family, avoided leaving the house, and resisted every activity we tried to engage him in — swimming, music, karate, art, and more. He would cover himself head-to-toe in hoodies and long pants even on the hottest Florida days, wanting nothing more than to be invisible.   At age 7, his therapist began weekly immersion therapy — gradual, real-world exposure designed to gently push through the anxiety. One of those experiences was a Rays game at Tropicana Field. My son came dressed in his hoodie and sweatpants, and with some encouragement, I got him through the stadium gates.   When we arrived in our seats, he asked me not to cheer. He didn't want anyone to notice him.   Then something remarkable happened. He became completely absorbed in the game. He wanted to come back. Over the next several weeks, we attended six more games — and at the last one, I looked over during player introductions and saw my son clapping his hands.   That moment changed everything. Baseball gave my son a way in. He and I began playing catch in the backyard. He agreed to a private hitting lesson, then a baseball day camp, then a week-long camp. Today, my son is on a little league team. He’s learned the importance of being a great teammate, how to deal with adversity, and that confidence grows through preparation and routine.  He is also a huge Tampa Bay Rays fan, he proudly wears his Junior Caminero shirt, and this is our second year as season ticket holders.   My son is now 9.5 years old, and while he still faces challenges, he has largely overcome his mutism — and I firmly believe those first few games at the Trop set him on that path.   My son’s story is not unique. For countless children and families across our region, the Rays represent far more than a baseball team. They are a source of connection, inspiration, and personal growth.   I respectfully ask that you support the new ownership group — so that future generations of kids like my son can have their moment, too. @TayVictoria8 @kenbabby @JPPetersonshow @TallyBull @PZalupski @Bill_Cosgrove @ThomasAKaspar @Flewellen727 @MayorJaneCastor @LockedOnRays @TheRaysin @RYVPodcast @TampaSportsAuth @TKras @benwhitelaw73 @cowboyaroza @247Rays @TBRaysCentral @Brett_Phillips8 @iAmNickWize

@BrettKollmann For most of his career he was an OLB in a 4-3 while others with the same label were really edge rushers with a hand on the ground every play. Wish 3-4 OLBs were called DEs back then since they rushed most plays. If he played MLB it’s a totally different conversation for him.

Like so many of my other (and even more talented) colleagues, I’m now a *free agent* Many of you probably know I left Fox Sports (.com) back in September & amid all the layoffs at Marquee, my contract wasn’t renewed. You can still hear me every Saturday on Fox Sports Radio from 3-5pm CT but for now, I’m looking for (and forward to) what’s next.

We will be talking about this on today’s JP Peterson show! If you look at the Rays Stadium project as a public investment and Public/Private partnership and not corporate welfare, you can see a vision of what this could become. Huge benefit to Tampa Bay and good INVESTMENT: here’s what The Braves Battery project is doing in Atlanta: Source is Cobb County Government reports compiled by Google AI- 2025 Tax Revenue & Financial Performance The Atlanta Braves Holdings reported that total revenue for the organization grew 11% in 2025 to $732 million.   Atlanta Braves Holdings, Inc.  +1 •The Battery's Surge: Revenue specifically from The Battery's mixed-use development jumped 45% in 2025 to $97 million. •Direct Tax Collections (Recent Data): Based on the most recent Cobb County Annual Report and 2025 updates, the project has generated: ◦State of Georgia: Over $16.7 million in annual tax collections. ◦Cobb County Government: Over $10.5 million (General Fund, SPLOST, and tourism taxes). ◦Cobb County Schools: $8.36 million annually. ◦Combined Annual Tax Impact:Approximately $40.3 million was generated for state and local governments in the most recent full reporting cycles, with numbers "continuing to improve" into 2025.  30-Year Recoupment & Projections Cobb County’s original 2015 commitment was $6.4 million annuallyfor stadium debt service.  •Current Milestone: As of 2024–2025, the stadium is officially "net positive" for the General Fund. It generates enough revenue to cover the $6.4 million debt payment plus a $3 million annual net gain for the county, excluding property taxes from The Battery. •Recoupment Projections: ◦Cobb County & Schools: A 2018 Georgia Tech Analysis projected a combined positive impact (including the "Halo Effect") of $18.9 million per year. Over 30 years, this suggests a total community benefit exceeding $560 million. ◦Property Value Growth: Taxable property values at The Battery rose from $5 million in 2014 to $577 million in 2024, significantly outpacing early conservative models. ◦Public Debt: The county issued $376 million in bonds to be repaid over 30 years. With current annual tax generation exceeding $40 million across all entities, the project is projected to far exceed the original public investment over its 30-year lifecycle.

@DenoAnag Sam Darnold did the same thing in Detroit against the Lions. But he bounced back to have a solid game and the Jets got the W.

This is RIDICULOUS. Vijay Singh is using the career money list exemption to get full status on the PGA tour this year as a soon-to-be 63 year old. Guys out here grinding for starts and Vijay is gonna take up spots as a 63 year old dude? Vijay is already signed up for the season opening Sony Open in Hawaii. This is beyond ridiculous in my opinion. Change the rule. Don’t let him play. Let’s have Koepka sit out for a year while we let Vijay take up spots on the PGA Tour. That seems like a great idea. 😡
