The same company that gutted the Everett Herald earlier this year & is now proposing journalists' pay be tied to ridiculous story quotas is also proposing substantial layoffs in Bend, roughly 30 days after taking over as new owners & false promises that there would be no layoffs.

Today, the Anchorage News Guild learned ADN owner Ryan Binkley has declined our request for voluntary recognition of our union. ADN management has also hired an attorney from Littler Mendelson, a notoriously anti-union law firm.
