@arindube @What46HasDone Resignation is not retirement. Or are you saying people are just shuffling to the next office over. What.

@asymmetricinfo Yes, all of us Americans are constantly having to figure out what chores to give our maids and butlers and chamberlains and viziers. McGargle my baIIs, Megan

Another way to put this is that they would like to have the welfare state amenities of Denmark without giving up the consumption amenities of an American upper-middle-class household that, for example, assumes one bedroom and one bathroom per household member, plus ample closets.

@mattyglesias @asymmetricinfo One of the big sources of incoherent Dem policy views is upper middle class people failing to recognize how well off they are. They think policy should be aimed to helping them and can easily be paid for by taxing “the rich” which is some very distinct category from themselves.

@chrisspangle Supply chains have been broken since before the US-China Trade War. Its an accumulation of crises on top of already poor planning and poor infrastructure. This recency bias is silly. Problems like this take years to build while people ignore them. Until they can't.

Imagine student debt being completely canceled the day after you… finished paying off your student debt.
Cancelling past debts makes no sense. Reducing the interest? Maybe. Preventing predatory loans in the future? Definitely.
Elizabeth Warren@ewarren
Student debt isn’t only a problem for people with college degrees. About 40% of borrowers weren’t able to graduate, so they have to pay off loans on salaries they can get with a high school diploma. With one signature, President Biden can #CancelStudentDebt & lift that burden.
