The wonderful (and remarkable) thing about Tina's life - after overcoming all the pain and abuse of her early years to become a rock icon - is that she was then able to walk away from it all and live out the rest of her life in happiness and relative anonymity. RIP.

What baffles me about age limit competitions is that it's the people OVER 40 or 50 or 60 that NEED the exposure. 20-year-olds have a lot more years ahead of them in which to be published.

@GabriellaKmny As the editor of a literary journal (and a jobbing writer!) I tell anyone who will listen that it is often not a reflection on your work but the reality of any number of factors - from the sheer amount of submissions to the theme & tone of the issue. Keep writing and subbing!! 😊
