People who don't think capitalism is "working" don't truly understand capitalism. Their view of capitalism is actually a hybrid of ambitious individualism and altruistic socialism, in which the individual does his or her part to ensure they attain to a certain standard of living and the government steps in to do the rest. People will need years to recover from the cult programming they have received from Candace Owens and the like.
Years and years, if they recover at all.
And even if people do realize she’s wack there’s a good chance many of them will just slide into another conspiratorial obsession following some other manipulative liar while thinking, “I trust this one. This one is reliable.”
I know from working with former cult members that this sort of wide sweeping belief in tons and tons of distorted information and skillful, false story-telling does not fall off of a person quickly. Even when they finally realize their source for this info (which really becomes a worldview) was an evil manipulator they usually still hold onto many false beliefs and suspicions they got from that source. The damage is long lasting.
If you are coming out of the influence of Candace or others who you are starting to realize you can’t trust, be patient with yourself. Take the time to reflect on what beliefs and positions you are holding that should be questioned. For example, if you think I’m being paid by Israel to post this or under someone’s compulsion other than my own, it’s because you’ve been brainwashed.
