@RRamsayauthor @Glinner Ironic, as on my last trip to Morocco, I noticed dog ownership has really increased amongst the middle class. In the wealthier neighbourhoods, dog walks at sunset were a common sight.

@amscanlon @Glinner @business_noone Less dog friendly and as a result more people with dog phobias. When my son started school dogs were allowed on lead at school pick up. Now banned. Kids are terrified of dogs if have no exposure and jump up and down screaming. Which excites the dogs no end.

It's a modern interpretive argument, popular in some progressive Christian or affirming circles, but it stretches the evidence and doesn't align with the primary meanings of "eunuch" in the ancient Near Eastern, Jewish, and Greco-Roman contexts.

In the time of Jesus, we would've been called eunuchs. That was a term given to those who couldn't (or didn't want to) have a sexual relationship - aka marriage - with a woman. It was common knowledge, at that time, that eunuchs would engage in same-sex relationships. So many Christians hate gays because they have no idea they are misinterpreting the Bible.
