I know I use this word a lot but this is what I mean by narcissism: not “egomania” or “grandiosity” but having an infantile, adversarial, competitive, envy-driven, zero-sum relationship with those closest to you like your spouse or your kids because you can only see others in relation to yourself and your needs. This is so common among Gen X, millennial and zoomer women it may as well be called womanbrain. The way that anything short of total deference is seen as oppression or “abuse,” the way that whenever a relationship fails because both sides clearly played a part, it’s always “he fumbled you.”

Every feminists take on marriage assume marriage is just like dating. The whole “two becoming one flesh” isn’t real, marriage is just super dating.

"Women's fertility falls steadily with age after she hits her twenties. The story of how we had the wrong view is quite interesting: Older studies of fertility-age profiles were carried out by going around populations of the world and then seeing how many women had had children in the past year for each age. But of course, women under 35 are often pregnant or postpartum. Women who had had a baby the previous year, or who had got pregnant less than 9 months before the end of the year, would show up in denominator, but in fact could never have got pregnant. Recent data has corrected for this, showing the smooth decline that seems more logical"

This article blew my mind multiple times. Did you know, for example, that the widespread view that a woman's fertility is pretty stable until she is 35, after which point it falls off a cliff, is totally FALSE. In fact, women's fertility falls steadily with age after she hits her twenties. The story of how we had the wrong view is quite interesting: Older studies of fertility-age profiles were carried out by going around populations of the world and then seeing how many women had had children in the past year for each age. Begging women online to stop seeing their husbands as some amorphous “other” that you’re forced to cooperate with. It’s your husband! It’s not you against him! It’s both of you against the world!
Jill Filipovic@JillFilipovic

I guess the answer here is for women to return to subsidizing the male lifestyle, which would not exist if women didn’t massively subsidize it by doing men’s cooking, cleaning, laundry, childcare, and all other manner of life organizing.

Charles Bukowski is the most overrated writer in American literature. He has the odd good line here and there, but nothing that justifies his reputation. People who revere him are almost universally mediocre

I suggest to women not to have sex all the time, so of course I know it's true. It's really funny to do. It's all "I choose the bear, I choose the bear," but like.... they never actually go with the bear they just hook up with their ex (abusive) again.
Crystal Guardian Commander@thebrettrussell

@orcbrandronin Suggesting to a woman that she not have sex would be far, far more grievous to her than actually raping her and no, this is not a joke; I am 100% serious. The sickening part is that you know it's true.

This is mostly accurate - women are not really choosing to remain unmarried past age 27 or so - men are choosing not to marry them Of course, the reason for this is because women have managed to "win" a cultural war that has transformed "marriage" into a one way commitment from a man to a woman with no corresponding responsibilities on her end Combine men opting out of this arrangement with women offering less as they get older and you have a marriage decline

Women can’t “choose” marriage. Men have to do that. Women aren’t turning down proposals for careers. The “choice” is an online delusion, there is no option for most women. Men don’t want to get married until later or not at all. Men are not proposing. They may have good & fair reasons but u can’t say it’s because women are “choosing” careers. Most women would choose marriage over a career in a heartbeat

1819: Schopenhauer's first trip to Italy (he's 31). In Venice he had a love affair with Teresa Fuga, a simple-minded commoner. She would write down Venetian songs for him. He kept the verses until his death.
