There are brokerages out there with 30–40% error rates between what they think they’ll buy the truck for and what they actually end up paying. So why spend five hours debating whether an RFP should have a 10% or 12% margin when your actual truck cost could swing by 20%? So where did all the traditional OTR trucking bad capacity and drivers go when they were pushed out? A lot went to hotshot. One of my expert witness litigation cases is a Russian CDL licensed driver who killed a man in a highway crash on a quadruple brokered load in a hot shot. I have about a dozen of these cases. In one dataset we have 2 fleets registered with one truck each. Two trucks 1400 inspections, with 700 separate vins shared between the two companies. Hot shot is where all the high risk exposure fled to. The worst part? A lot of it is instant issue insurance and these companies like Geico and progressive are thinking that their insuring one truck and these fleets have a lot of trucks not just one. And some of my cases they're using airbnb's as principal places a business offshore BOC 3 agents so they can't be served and they're leasing on anybody with a pickup truck. @dartinguphill The brake can has 2 types of leaks. 1 blown diaphragm, 2 leaking rod seal, that will leak out through a service valve. These usually leak after you push in yellow knob, and quit after awhile, when the compressor cycles at max PSI, then leak the next time you use park brake.

@dartinguphill Way to new a truck for me to comment on, but old truck have both primary & secondary air gages, so you can see where the air is going. providing your sensor is ok the 2 most common parking brake air leaks are brake can and hoses leading to it.

@TMSuccessful Most cultured stone/ rock house will load direct anyway. be sure do credit check on them first, and prepare for low ball offers. One industry where brokers get better rates.

This is a little bit funny. One of the things brokers used to say when everyone was very upset about the rates was, "Go find your own customers". I don't know about carriers looking for shippers, but I know that shippers are really starting to look for carriers directly, bypassing the broker. What's funny is that brokers then try to convince the customer why working directly with carriers is a bad idea. That being said: shippers! Please make it a priority to do your homework on the carrier you are hiring. 🫶

@TimothyDooner NFL is a ecomany centered around a popular sport. History teaches us that essential ecomany like trucking, ether uses ;forced labor or cheapest paid labor available. Truck driver draft would be similar to miliarty draft, low pay & high personals risk.

@TimothyDooner IF we had a capitalist system; trucking companies could pass their cost down to consumer , and with transparency could openly compete in a fair market. Drivers would hire out as professionals, in their own self interest. No labor pool.
