I was also in the LA Riots (@ChuckDeVore is a 40ID homie). I remember being in a catered chow line and really excited because I saw what was for dinner. There were two Air Force guys in line ahead of me, pilots. This is so true... One of them looks at the food, then at his buddy, then says, "What, steak AGAIN?"

@schneider I’m convinced people in LA truly will never use public transport. It’s a vibe - they’d rather be in traffic but in their own closed climate and bubble. New York’s rich AND poor take the subway bc it’s that fast - despite safety and cleanliness. This new line better be efficient

This is going to dramatically change Los Angeles. For the first time, a high quality train is going through some of the wealthiest parts of the city. Will shrink the city, boost support for more public transportation, and further challenge our “only cars” mindset.
