@Silicon_Fly They will use the neo as a way to get people more entrenched in their ecosystem. People buying at this price point want something that is good enough performance wise and care more for brand perception. If they already have an iPhone they will like pickd one up.

Apple MacBook Neo There is a general misconception that Apple MacBook Neo will kill x86 laptops, but that is far from the truth. First off, it's anemic and has only 8GB memory which is okay for most youngsters who just use it for causal browsing. But, 8GB of RAM is very bad in this day and age and not meant for real users or office purposes. Even mobile phones have more RAM than Neo. Then there is this ever green Windows x86 software & games compatibility issues. The list is huge. And virtualization isn't a good solution. In fact, with Neo, it's not even possible to run Windows 11 with Parallels with only 8 GB RAM. Yep. Remember, when Windows x86 runs x86 software, it runs it fine most of the time but not always. In spite of Windows x86 being many decades old, it still has troubles. So, don't expect Apple to simple run x86 software flawlessly. It's just a fairy tale. And then there is Apple's global laptop market share. MacBooks are 2 decades old now, but they still have a puny market share of only 10% approx. According to Gartner, Apple MacBook global shipment stands at only 9% as of Q2 2025. And when it comes to availability, the PC OEM network is something that Apple can only dream of. Apple is strong in US, many European countries and some more. But when it comes to the entire world, the PC OEM network is exceptionally strong compared to Apple's. Globally, x86 OEMs can easily sell a lot more than Apple. If Neo sells in droves like what some analysts say, then Apple's global laptop market share may go up from 10% to 15% at best in the next couple of years. There is no way Neo is going to *wipe out* x86 anytime now. That being said, I'm Apple fan too and I'm buying a Neo just cos it's very light, portable, efficient and most importantly, it looks very stylish (just for use while traveling). Feel free to share your thoughts.

@Antrunt @VideoCardz 2k and 3k are starting prices, the 6000 is a top spec, basically at opposite end of those prices.

@VideoCardz $2K and $3K for a PC that comes with 6000 BW? Or is that without the GPU lol because it alone costs 2-3x times that

Let me be clear. For the Galaxy S27 Ultra, a big upgrade isn't optional anymore. It's mandatory. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely the absolute maximum refinement Samsung can squeeze out of its current camera hardware. If the S27 Ultra doesn't deliver a real leap, a new main sensor and serious telephoto changes (rumored ISOCELL HPA 1/1.1” 200MP, ALoP) the S26 Ultra may be my last Samsung as a main device. I'll still push the S26 Ultra to its limits, hardware and software, to see if Samsung can truly hit that ceiling. Samsung’s engineering and software are strong, but the race doesn't wait. Other OEMs are moving fast.

@NikTek I dont think people remember entire series that well they just get attached to the 1080ti and that's it. Specially because they remember the old price and never adjust for inflation.

Back when Nvidia cared about PC Gamers, the only GPU that offered a massive performance upgrade was the RTX 30 Series. If it wasn't for non-existent stock and the amount of scalping that happened for the first two years after its launch, I definitely think that the RTX 30 series would be remembered the same way as the GTX 10 series was

@NikTek The performance upgrade of the 40 series was just as good if we focus on the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. The lower it went, the shittier it got, though. But still, the 40 series happened to suffer the same fate of having a tainted legacy as the 30 series thanks to shitty pricing.

It’s not just about new builds (and DDR4 prices). It’s about giving AM4 owners a sane upgrade path — one that existed until just a few months ago. The 5500X3D proves it’s possible: a software-cut 5800X3D that keeps AM4 alive without screwing users in today’s environment. I personally know a dozen people gaming on a Ryzen 7 5800X/3700X — a 5800X3D (or a hypothetical 5850X3D) would be a substantial upgrade without forcing them into DDR5. AMD user buys more AMD, AMD win.
TechEpiphany tweet media
TechEpiphany@TechEpiphanyYT

DDR5 is now the bottleneck. Reviving Ryzen 7 5000X3D production and *Ryzen 3/5/7 5000G driver support would cost AMD little and earn them money, massive goodwill, and mindshare. But AMD will be AMD. ☹️ *last SKU released in 2024

@TechEpiphanyYT To have even better margins they would just use the lower grade parts and slap a different name on it. They aren't gonna spin up another model to still have a % of them not been good enough.

@TechEpiphanyYT They improved it by introducing those skus before. 5700x3d and 5500x3d exist only becuase they weren't good enough parts to become a 5800x3d and 5600x3d. People had plenty of time to upgrade is the point and can't expect amd to keep it going forever.

@Deviantbuilds AMD did literally fix it by offering Ryzen 5 5500X3D, 5600X3D, 5700X3D and 5800X3D. It is not really common to EOL SKUs because "they are doing too well".

No, you wouldn't. And you've made the same flaw as I pointed out in the second comment. If you are going to compare using the cost of used PC parts, you can also buy a used console...
Mauro Dias@lowtierhuman

@ghost_motley Gtx 1080ti -> 160-200$ i7-8700k -> 130$ Asus maximus x hero -> 180$ 16gb 3200 dd4 -> 55$ Sammsung 960 pro nvme -> 45$ Case -> 30$ = 640$ Ps5 pro= 699$ And you'd still be better off with that pc.
