Capcom report 93.3% of their game sales are digital.
- PC digital units make up 60.4% of sales
- Console digital units make up 32.9% of sales
- Physical units make up 6.7% of sales
- Note: Capcom also counts Switch 2 game key cards as digital sales.

@ZhugeEX I mean, xbox kinda did it already but more silent, at no store in my area they have gotten any physical xbox games for like 3 years, only download codes, even with some of their biggest releases they had 0 boxed games in store. Only through online retailers like amazon.

Fwiw we do have digital shares for games that have a physical + digital release (so excluding digital only games). This is US only ofc.

@ZhugeEX @KahliefAdams So why doesn’t Sony release updated stats themselves for digital games sold YTD? I feel like that + the circana report would easily put an end to the uproar. Regardless where you stand, this whole announcement by Sony could’ve been handled better.

It’s known within the reviewer community that if you request a game on Xbox you may have a slightly higher chance of getting a ‘yes’ - since there’s almost no competition for these codes

One of Xbox's biggest problems - here's the review spread for Denshattack. Despite launching on Game Pass, almost the entire media landscape will choose to play anywhere else. It's a microcosm of the market. Hell of an uphill climb for Xbox, along with all the other challenges.
