Journalists who refer to South Beirut as a “Hezbollah Stronghold” should be forced to meet the families who’ve lost their homes, where they raised kids, and made cherished memories. Their rhetoric is the foundation on which such crimes become permissible. They are complicit.

@moneillsf Only a missed opportunity for GAA to get British money to build a stadium only their sport would benefit from GAA deserve a stadium on the same basis of funding that Football and Rugby received @gordonlyons1

Casement Park will be built. The decision by the British Government to withhold the necessary share of funding for Casement Park in time for us to host UEFA Euro 2028 is a missed opportunity for sport and our economy. This was an enormous opportunity to create jobs, boost tourism, and showcase everything great about our island and people on the global stage. We will continue to work with the GAA, our local executive and the two governments to push this project forward and get these state-of-the-art facilities built and a first-class stadium for Gaelic games delivered. The British Secretary of State has said clearly that Casement Park will be built, so I would urge his government to honour the commitments they’ve made and let’s get it built.

@RuthDE You'd know a lot about integrity, as you speak with the arrogance and morals of british imperialism.

@PaddyShanks @Coolavin53 @IrishTimes The majority of people don't really care for or practice religion, so your paranoia has no substance. You haven't once acknowledged the abuse, discrimination, and oppression that took place. You should come out of that bubble you're living in sometime

@Coolavin53 @DiamondFergal @IrishTimes All states artificial, think about it! Canada & USA. Obsession no, stalwart dedication protecting our religion/culture from hegemonic Roman Catholic state, as proven over next 50+ years ROI. Irish born Protestants today 1.4% v 1921 Free State 10% RCs is NI 30% 1921 v 45% today.

@PaddyShanks @Coolavin53 @IrishTimes Discrimination and gerrymandering. Look both of those words up, or you can just keep living in denial. Those who were the wrong side of history usually do. Slán Abhaile Paddy.

@DiamondFergal @Coolavin53 @IrishTimes Yes they did: Voting rights in Northern Ireland in Westminster, Stormont and Council elections were exactly the same for every citizen of Northern Ireland. The contentious council system was similar to that in GB up to 1949, NI changed this to GB system in 1969.

@PaddyShanks @Coolavin53 @IrishTimes Nice way of saying years and years of oppression, Paddy. Did Irish Catholics always have a vote in this democratic utopia you speak of? Why were there civil rights marches?

@DiamondFergal @Coolavin53 @IrishTimes To create anarchy in Ireland, part of the United Kingdom, against the democratic will of the people, unfortunately for them, Ulster did not play ball in 1919 nor Northern Ireland in any decade of attack by IRA or its offshoots since then.

@Coolavin53 @IrishTimes The IRA has existed in every decade of the 20th century, the most recent campaign before 1969 against Northern Ireland was from 1956> 1962 in which 6 policemen were murdered. The truth is "no IRA no B Specials or UDR" IRA hopped on Civil Rights bandwagon but to destroy the State.

Attended the campaign launch in full support of the Occupied Territories Bill. Ireland must ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements without delay. Proud to have met with the Palestinian ambassador again to convey the unwavering support of the people of Ireland and #Donegal.
