🗣️ “What a player, what a guy, what a man! If I’m anything like that in my 50s, I’ll be extremely proud of myself.” Mutual respect between two fine ambassadors of our sport ❤️

🚨 Sir Alex Ferguson on what still decides football in 2026: 🗣️ Ferguson: “People spend more time than ever talking about systems, structures, build-up shapes, inverted full-backs, and all of these modern ideas. And yes, the game has changed, no doubt about that. But football has never stopped being simple at its core. At the highest level, when pressure is at its peak, tactics don’t score goals and they don’t clear danger in your box. Players do. The ones with courage, the ones who don’t hide, the ones who take responsibility when the game is tight and everything feels heavy. At Manchester United, we always understood that. You don’t build great teams by overcomplicating things—you build them by creating winners. Players who hate losing more than they enjoy winning. That’s what carries you through difficult moments in a season. I’ve seen matches where we were not the better tactical side, but we won because the mentality was stronger. We refused to accept defeat. Someone always stepped up, whether it was a tackle, a run, a goal, or just leadership in the dressing room. Modern football will keep evolving, but one thing will never change. When everything is analysed, studied, and planned… it still comes down to individuals stepping up when it matters most. That’s what separates good teams from champions.”

🚨Jose mourinho on Manchester United and Michael Carrick : “At Manchester United, the problem is not always the players, not always the results—it is sometimes the decisions. Too many times the club looks outside for answers, chasing big names, big reputations, but football is not about reputation, it is about understanding. Michael Carrick understands this club. He doesn’t need time to learn what Manchester United is—he already knows. He has been inside the dressing room, he has won everything there is to win, and he knows what the fans expect when they walk into Old Trafford. You can bring in managers with big CVs, with big egos, but if they don’t understand the soul of the club, they will always struggle. Carrick has something you cannot teach—connection. So for me, it is simple: instead of making another ‘clever’ decision, maybe the club should make the obvious one… and finally trust one of their own.”

🚨Casemiro on why he cried after the full time whistle: I spent most of my career in Spain playing for Real Madrid, where I won many trophies. But in just a few seasons at Manchester United, I’ve felt something different — something deeper enough to make grown man cry. Here, I truly feel at home. The fans, the passion, the chants echoing through Old Trafford… it’s something special. It’s something that touches your heart in a way that’s hard to explain. The love and appreciation from the supporters, even for the smallest efforts on the pitch, mean everything to me. At Madrid, winning trophies was incredible, but here at United, even a single victory feels just as meaningful — like lifting a trophy of its own. That connection with the fans, that sense of belonging… it’s powerful enough to make a grown man emotional. And honestly, that’s why I couldn’t hold back my tears.

@GeorgesStPierre Another comparison that everyone can relate to is the 100 yard dash… The dude ran a 15.5 second 100 yard dash — which is a sprint — FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE CONSECUTIVE TIMES! He basically sprinted nonstop for 26.2 miles 👀

To put it in perspective: if a marathon champion runs 42.195 km in ~2 hours, that’s about 2:50 per km… which equals roughly 68 seconds for 400m. A minute & 8 seconds 400m pace for 2 hours. That’s an insane 🥵

Roland-Garros… mon dernier Roland-Garros. 🖤

Rory McIlroy is an investor in Whoop, wears one of the company's wristbands while playing, and allows the brand to share his data periodically. Here are some of his Masters highlights: • 24,000+ steps on Sunday • 91,000+ steps during the tournament Rory's heart rate spiked to 135 BPM during his tee shot on 18, dropped to 121 BPM during his approach shot, fell further to 105 BPM during his winning putt, and then jumped back up to 150 BPM during his celebration. His resting heart rate for the week was 47-49 BPM. Rory says he follows a strict routine during the PGA Tour season to ensure proper rest and recovery: • No caffeine after 2 PM • Last meal at least 2 hours before bed • Magnesium and theanine for sleep quality • Blue-light-blocking glasses in the evening • Sauana or Epsom salt bath when available • Cool room temperature for sleep He follows the same three-hour routine before every round: arrive at the course → warm up in the gym → eat breakfast → hit balls on the range → putting green. Rory says he believes his focus on longevity will help him play another 10+ years at a high level, and his physiological age on Whoop is now 1.5 years younger than his actual age. Plus, it turned out to be a pretty good investment. Rory initially invested in Whoop in 2020 when the company was valued at $1.2 billion. While we don't know exactly how much he invested, Whoop recently raised another round at a $10.1 billion valuation. That's an 8.4x multiple in five years. Not bad, not bad.
