Hey everyone. Just wanted to give my friends on here an update. On April 7th I will be having open heart surgery to replace part of my aortic valve and fix an aneurism. I was born with aortic stenosis... It is now in need of being fixed sooner than later... prayers appreciated🙏

The U.S. is in the middle of a partial government shutdown (now ~40 days as of late March 2026) specifically affecting parts of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This is because Congress has not yet passed the regular FY2026 appropriations bills for the non-defense discretionary side of DHS (the 12 annual spending bills). The GBBB/OBBBA money covers the big multi-year enforcement surge, but day-to-day operations, salaries, and certain other DHS functions (like TSA airport screening, FEMA, Coast Guard, cybersecurity, etc.) still rely on these annual appropriations.
