Video; This young man is a great patriot who loves his country and fellow citizens, and he hates seeing drivers violate traffic rules by driving recklessly.🫡

📌#NationalCleaningDay Ugandans have demonstrated a lack of seriousness despite the government's announcement that today would be designated as a National Cleaning Day across the country from 7:00am to 10:00 am. Some unpatriotic Ugandans were observed continuing their daily routines on the roads, which is quite unfortunate. While we all wish to work, the government has allocated every Saturday within a month to allow the general public to participate in the National Cleaning Day. Therefore, I kindly request the @GovUganda to consider the following measures in upcoming national cleaning events: 1. All security agencies should install blockages at roundabouts and all entrances in cities, municipalities, town councils, and town centres across the country. 2. Participation in the general cleaning should be made mandatory for all citizens. 3. All Individuals who remain and lock themselves in residential premises or apartments should be forced to leave their residences and participate. 4. Those who disobey these directives should be subject to arrest and charges. 5. Only essential workers and sick people should be exempt from participating in the cleaning activities. Otherwise, this babysitting Ugandans and serving them bread and butter won't take us anywhere. #UnstoppableUg @jessica_alupo @R_Nabbanja @MoLGUganda @MKarekye @BalaamBarugahar @JustineNameere @OPMUganda

I was pleased to join fellow Ugandans in participating in the National Cleaning Day. A clean environment starts with each of us taking responsibility for the places where we live and work. #KeepUgandaClean

We have begun removing the man-made “Baby Mountain Rwenzori” in Fort Portal City this morning. This huge heap of garbage has accumulated since 2014. It is unfortunate that we allowed not one, but three man-made garbage mountains to exist for so long, posing serious public health risks and creating breeding grounds for disease. This particular garbage mountain is located right in the middle of the market, where thousands of people conduct business every day. Together, we must ensure that Fort Portal remains clean, healthy, and beautiful. I thank all supporters of General @mkainerugaba, NRM leaders led by the Mayor of Fort Portal Central Division, Joram Bintamanya Apuuli, Hon. Linda Irene, our local government leaders, and everyone who has joined this important clean-up exercise. Together, we shall restore the beauty and dignity of our city.

Together, we addressed the media about the forthcoming launch of the National Cleaning Days Initiative, a programme that was approved by the Cabinet meeting held in August 2025 and chaired by H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni . The initiative will be launched by Her Excellency @jessica_alupo on behalf of the President in Kiti Zone, Kisenyi Parish, Kampala this Saturday. The Vice President will also participate in the inaugural cleaning activities together with other Government leaders, religious and cultural leaders, and members of the general public. The initiative establishes the last Saturday of every month as the National Cleaning Day (from 7:00 am to 9:00 am). During this time, all Ugandans are expected to participate in organised community cleaning activities within their areas, including homes, markets, schools, health facilities, places of worship, roads, drainage channels, and other public spaces. I call upon all Ugandans to embrace this initiative because of its great benefits such as reducing the disease burden. @MinofHealthUG @BaryomunsiChris @DianaAtwine @JaneRuth_Aceng @Parliament_Ug

As we come together to clean our neighborhoods this weekend, let's all play our part in keeping our environment clean and healthy; 1. Do not litter: Avoid throwing waste along roads, in drainage channels, or in open spaces. 2. Do not burn garbage: Burning waste pollutes the air and poses serious health risks. 3. Sort your waste at the source: Separate organic waste (Ebivunda) from inorganic waste (Ebitavunda) to support recycling and proper disposal. 4. Dispose of waste responsibly: Ensure all collected waste is loaded onto the designated garbage trucks for safe transportation and disposal. @Weyonje 🫡 #NationalCleaningDays #KCCAatWork #ForALivableCity
