Watch out--the thought police are here in HB. City officials just yanked the best-selling book, The Guncle, from its ADULT book club. They abruptly pulled it as the May pick and substituted it with another book. They don't like LGBTQ+ characters in books for adults. The slippery slope has arrived. It's not just about the kids' books. It's about adult books, too.

Mayor Burns, and his response should surprise no one due to the corrupt nature of his meddling and politically incestuous relationship with Chad Williams. He voted to misuse public tax dollars on a witch hunt to exact political persecution on the Friends of the Library, a nonpartisan group of elderly volunteers who work to make our city better. They donate over $250,000 a year to the City of HB. He should be ashamed of himself. He should be thanking them, but instead he libelled and defamed them. He and Chad Williams are beholden to City Attorney’s Office (and Michael Gates) the same office that advised that them to keep the airshow settlement hidden and wasted limited city money, then wasted more money suing the CA Governor in Federal Court just to be turned down by the District Court and the Court of Appeals twice. They just keep losing. I will be requesting an investigation by the FPPC and proper authorities to take this matter up. Lastly, there is always a legal challenge that can be filed and they know how that will end for them. As the most successful resident plaintiff in the city’s history, it’s going to be an uphill challenge for these amateurs. I have never lost and they have never won against me.
