If half the population doesn't pay tax because "it's very meaningful to that person" while its only "3% of the total tax revenue" it means you've built a patronage state that monetizes suffrage/political legitimacy through fiscal non-participation. As Mises clearly articulated, once you establish any precedence that the state may exempt any classes of citizens from any contribution on moral grounds, you have dissolved the "principle of generality" which in fact makes taxation indistinguishable from theft
In other words, the democratic system will have been completely captured, thus completely failed.

Thank you. The important part is zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. Best way to put money in someone’s pocket is to not take it out in the first place. Bottom half is only 3% of total tax revenue. But it’s very meaningful to that person. Zero it out.

the current flood of data centers is nothing to do with "the internet or modern computing and communication." AI data centers are not making the internet faster or more-available. They are there to offer inference for companies that won't exist in two years

When it comes to billionaires my take is the opposite of Leftists:
Billionaires SHOULD consume all their wealth: megayachts, English castles, mountains of cocaine, own a dozen homes and 30 cars - do it! Spend it all!
The worst thing that can happen is for a billionaire to try to ‘do good in the world’ and shovel money to NGOs for some cause they get excited about. That’s the worst thing that can happen. Charitable donations should be taxed at 500%. A billionaire’s lavish lifestyle poses no threat to me but their misguided ‘good intent’ is absolutely cancerous and potentially civilization ending.
