Update to the Bitcoin Node Hub, the Peer Map now includes a detailed version distribution, showing counts and a breakdown of every protocol and client version among connected peers. This gives node operators instant visibility into the diversity and health of the network they are participating in. GitHub: github.com/Dig-A-Hash/bit…

Bitcoiners, if you are hashing with F2Pool this is the blockchain maxi designing your block templates and deciding what BIPs your hash will and won't support. Become a sovereign Bitcoiner, build your own templates, signal for the BIPs you want, get better pool payouts, and decentralize mining by running your own @BitcoinKnots node, point your hash to @ocean_mining through DATUM.

@jonatack @venorusprime @BitcoinKnots Thank you for everything you do, Jon. 🙏 I can totally understand staying neutral and keeping your options open, I appreciate the thoughtful approach. Best wishes whatever path you take!

@Dig_A_Hash_Kid @venorusprime @BitcoinKnots Thanks for the kind thoughts. I prefer to be neutral and outside of the core and knots camps for now. Maybe work on another implementation. Maybe focus on the BIPs. We’ll see.

Speaking of poaching... Hey @jonatack, what can a humble pleb do to get you to start developing for @BitcoinKnots? From my outsider perspective it seems like it would be more in line with your ideals about Bitcoin development.

The finest minds I've known, real PHDs wrestling with physics don't mock such things. They ponder it. Mocking that is not clever, it is brittle. Science, Bitcoin, physics, and the search for meaning all demand humility in the face of what is bigger than us. I wish you that humility someday. Until then, I'm out.

@Dig_A_Hash_Kid @FreeSpeechBTC21 @Arthur_van_Pelt @peterktodd > On principle, my buddies debate technical merits So you like transaction censorship and spamming bible quotes on the blockchain, got it > certainly do not resort I can mock people who believe they're immortal and aren't bound by biology or physics. That's weird af.

“Bitcoin must not be a “currency” that is too holy to be used” It's not a coincidence that Luke happens to be the most hard core religious Bitcoin Core developer.

You are not my buddy, not even close. On principle, my buddies debate technical merits without dragging personal faith into it as a cheap shot. My buddies, including multiple PHDs (real scientists) certainly do not resort to mocking someone's faith when their argument gets weak.

I get that, but it doesn't really apply here. Luke defends the Church but, again, if you just read his profile you will see that he condemns fakes and child abuse as his way of calling out what he sees as today's evils, much like how Paine railed against corruption in his time. You really do not seem to actually read much about anything discussed throughout any of this, from Paine, to Luke, to citing well-known fringe claims about the Declaration of Independence. Regardless, the core problem still remains in your argument, picking on someone's personal faith, or religion is a lousy substitute for technical arguments.

@Dig_A_Hash_Kid @FreeSpeechBTC21 @Arthur_van_Pelt @peterktodd I'm not cherry picking anything, he detested religion. Deism is a direct response to religions brainwashing millions of people. The point is this luke's life revolves around a cult that teaches people extreme falsehoods that don't stand up to even the tiniest bits of scrutiny

Paine spells it out right at the start of The Age of Reason, you would know that if you ever read it. “I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life..." He was defending a rational, personal belief in God while attacking “evils” and contradictions of his time. Again, these men lived in the late 1700s, knew nothing about Bitcoin, blockchain, tech debates, or 21st-century culture wars. No one is dragging Paine, Jefferson, or even you for personal views today. We are all imperfect humans. These men did incredible things for liberty and reason, but cherry-picking their rants to pwn someone's faith in 2026, is just bad faith (pun intended).

Same move again, now Thomas Paine from his public book, The Age of Reason. That was his 1790s deist philosophy during the French Revolution, not intended for a modern technical argument. No, Thomas Paine did not likely write an early draft of the Declaration of Independence. That's a fringe claim, not supported by mainstream historical consensus. Cherry picking historical quotes to attack someone’s faith in a Bitcoin thread still misses the context.

This quote was from JQA's private diary, so it was his personal reflection, not public advocacy for future technical arguments. He was critiquing how organized religion often mixed real benevolence with superstition and historical cruelty. To be clear, he was not attacking individual faith. Pulling it out to mock someone's beliefs here doesn't really apply, especially from one of America's most privileged founding sons. That really undercuts the anti-establishment angle. Context matters.

Majorian / BIP-110@MajorianBTC·
The Ethereumization of bitcoin began with Core 30, and is the Trojan Horse leading to dynamic block size, tail emissions, and freezing quantum-vulnerable UTXO's. The only proposal on the table to fight back against this is BIP-110.

Attacking someone purely for their religious faith often reveals more about the attacker than the target. It is a strong signal of insecurity, unresolved personal issues, projection of one's own doubts or flaws, and a need to feel superior by belittling deeply held beliefs. Psychologically, this behavior frequently stems from fear, repressed inadequacy, or tribal defensiveness rather than genuine intellectual critique. It rarely demonstrates strength of character, more often, it exposes intolerance or an inability to coexist with differing world views. In the end, mocking faith says the attacker may be wrestling with something deeper inside themselves.

@jonatack speculates there are projects from Core aimed at making it more difficult for filters to work against spam. At another point in this conversation Jon mentions he believes most Core devs are anti-spam. Then why make it easier to get spam in the blockchain? I think it's because culture creep and "use case" relativism has set in at Core. From their point of view, who are you to say what is and isn't spam? Once you concede there is no spam on Bitcoin it's a simple step to the idea that any attempts to filter any transactions is censorship. And hey, we're all against censorship, right? This is why the fight for the culture is so important. Bitcoin is not a protocol devoid of human influence. Let the devs know that Bitcoin is money. Run BIP110.
