@RickTheDickhead @Bloodbuzz256 @autocorrect2_0 You see the VA regularly conducts reviews of Veterans disability files. Now they even use AI. They will reduce and remove ratings. If they catch fraud they absolutely will put you in jail or make you pay every dime back. Why would they tell you or anyone else knowing that? Please

So you think slashing vet benefits is going to decrease your taxes? It’s not. They’ll reallocate it to salaries within the VA or contractors fees or some other BS. It’s never going back in your pocket but at least the jealousy you felt over that guy who spent three tours in Afghanistan getting 1500 a month will be satiated

@Jon_173d @TheMakerPatrick @thomasbsauer The DSM-V is very clear on the symptoms and if that is the case, a doctor wrote a diagnosis and a Nexus letter to back up that claim. So that is on the doctor. But getting shot might give someone PTSD.

@Digdug30 @davethul @VFW_OfficeDC @AmericanLegion @DAVHQ But the VA knows you have migraines and plays stupid instead of connecting it during the 0% rating. It's a game, but one the VA uses agains veterans. Yeah, Sharks are an issue, but the VA has been dumping veteran blood in the water for years, so who is at fault

@burrito_capital @TraditionSarah It's always about covering their own ass. My ten year VA Psychiatrist told me no. But she wrote a P&T letter after I got service connected. After I paid for an outside Nexus. It was ridiculous.

@TraditionSarah It is in the CFR and VHA directives that your VA doctor can and shall do this. Good luck with that however. The VA issue is diffusion of responsibility on the VA side.

Are we ready to talk about the real scam when it comes to VA disability. VA providers refusing to sign DBQs and provide nexus letters for patients they’ve seen for YEARS, leading to the veteran having to seek second opinions outside of the VA system (which cost money) just to potentially get a rating for a condition that’s well documented within the VA system with a provider they have tenure with. Conflict of interest my ass.

@TraditionSarah You are absolutely on point. VA doctors often say they can't because it's a conflict of interests. And it is exactly the opposite. They are supposed to write Nexus letters. A treating doctor's records and opinion should be enough. C&P exams done by the VA, not contractors. But no

@lblee58 @DeptofWar @DeptVetAffairs You need a Nexus and proof of exposure for a certain amount of time. In your records. You can't just say "trust me". Because they don't. They will pick apart your records. No supporting evidence=no service connection.

Well isn’t this a kick in the nuts. The US Government @DeptofWar has known AFFF was toxic when they were exposing sailors to it in firefighting training. Yet now @DeptVetAffairs wants to deny claims of Thyroid Disease and Type 2 Diabetes caused by the exposure. Known Toxicity: Despite manufacturer assurances, internal studies by the Department of Defense and 3M knew of potential dangers of AFFF in the 1970s and 80s.
VA Secretary Doug Collins@SecVetAffairs

I’m tired of a society that looks at Veterans as victims. We are not victims; we are warfighters and heroes. The @DepVetAffairs is refocusing our suicide prevention and mental health efforts to honor that warrior spirt. You have the discipline and heart. We’re here to provide the resources you need.

@danoboltup @Page11_RJ @ctlyle1 That is absolutely, positively the most ignorant thing I have seen on X today. It was worth following this thread just to see the final collapse. You and everyone like you are the victims of being completely uneducated with no desire to ever become so it seems. Complete ignorance

One of the biggest losers I have ever met was a Veteran who receives $3k/month to do nothing in Florida because he fell down a hill with a ruck sack on during a training exercise. Never deployed. A real scumbag. Military benefit grifting absolutely exists.
Collin Rugg@CollinRugg

NEW: Man who served as a Navy reservist and had school paid for by the government before getting out “medically” is receiving $2000 a month from the VA for “anxiety.” “He went to school, and the Navy paid for it, and then he got out medically.”

@burrito_capital @davethul @VFW_OfficeDC @AmericanLegion @DAVHQ I will say this. About claim sharks. They know the part of the system to exploit. The PACT act. A stuffy nose due to burn pits gets them 0% but it is service-connected. Then they claim headaches secondary to the 0% stuffy nose. Boom 50% disability. So yes. It is partly the sharks

@Digdug30 @davethul @VFW_OfficeDC @AmericanLegion @DAVHQ Yeah, pact was an issue. But again, it's not the claim sharks, it's the VA imo. Keep doing as good as you can in that side, I know it's been crazy with the new "metrics" on VA eaters

@burrito_capital @davethul @VFW_OfficeDC @AmericanLegion @DAVHQ Your logic is sound here. The VA is structured to protect itself. It has been since they started compensation for mental health. I have first hand experience trying to get VA disability and health care. The "wait for them to die" silent policy is still very much in effect.

@burrito_capital @davethul @VFW_OfficeDC @AmericanLegion @DAVHQ I work in VA benefits everyday. It started going sideways with the PACT act, not the Mission Act. Secondary claims off of those presumptive disabilities are the bread and butter for claim sharks. Migraines specifically. But to be honest I didn't mean to reply to you. My bad.

@lblee58 @DeptVetAffairs Do you have continuous treatment for your knees after service? What was the exact injury? AFFF exposure is for cancer and thyroid issues. Do you have those? If not, they are not service connected. You see fraud is actually difficult to pull off on the VA.

I’m tired of legitimate Disability Claims being denied. I was injured (2 documented right knee injuries) and exposed to toxic chemicals (AFFF/PFAS). @DeptVetAffairs doesn’t want to approve claims even though they agree I have disabilities and either have injuries in my STR or exposure in my service record

This is part of the issue, VSOs can't rock the boat too much or the VA pulls their access. Claim sharks, they at least have skin in the game Neither VSOs or claim sharks would need to exist if the VA was accurate and competent This is the VA moat, their incompetence surrounds them and now the diffusion of responsibility takes over so we focus on claim sharks, not the VA, VSOs are just a foil

I love how some people that understand how the VA works tells you to get the government to pay for a medical procedure. Not knowing unless your condition is Service Connected the VA won’t perform the medical procedure!

@lblee58 @DavidJones02232 There’s a lot of information gaps here. The VA SITREP channel on YouTube has fantastic fact based information on the why’s and why nots. for example VA rated disability compensation 50% and above receive health care. Below that do not unless service connected.

@lblee58 @DavidJones02232 Wrong. It's a means test and the co-pay varies by income if you aren't service-connected. Ignorance is your own fault and absolutely no one else is responsible to educate you. But I will anyway if you like.
