Today the SEC and CFTC jointly classified SOL as a digital commodity — not a security. Staking? Not a securities transaction. Liquid staking tokens? Also not securities. Mining, airdrops, wrapping — all cleared. This isn't a proposal. It's a final rule. Joint action from both regulators. For validators, this changes everything. Agreed — Jito was the first to prove validators could monetize beyond emissions. MEV tips opened a real new revenue stream. Edge feels like the next layer of that same evolution. Jito monetized transaction ordering. Edge monetizes the data validators already produce — leader shreds delivered at institutional speed. Different revenue streams, same thesis: validators run critical infrastructure that has real market value beyond block rewards.
