@mkainerugaba General, for the good of your fans and all descendants of the chwezi, please.Stop going down this path. In Orwell's Animal Farm at a point, you couldn't tell the difference between the pigs and the humans they liberated themselves from. We overthrew Amin but this is eerily similar

I absolutely and never have believed in the inviobility of a legal profession in Uganda that is dedicated to the destruction of the 1986 revolution.

@mkainerugaba General....I support you whole heatedly, but please don't turn Uganda into this 🥺. This is what our fathers bled to alleviate, no matter the offence, human dignity must prevail above emotions. Make this right General, if not, surely all hope is lost😔😔🚶

World Cup visitors are learning — that giant American flag, bigger than any in your country, is not on a government building, and not to celebrate the World Cup — it’s just a regular car dealership on a normal day.

@rsnokes Great effort prof. But the agency responsible is actually the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB)

This is not a real poster, not really from the Ugandan government. In America we have tourism posters in an art style called “WPA” after the gov’t agency that popularized it. I love #WPA style, and had AI make a poster for #Uganda.

This gentleman was looking for suggestions in #African #literature for beginners, and I had started to write a long reply with places to start, but instead let's throw this out to the crowd. What are some works of African lit that you'd recommend to a beginner?
D.A.L.E@Bakedbydale

@rsnokes Thank you. Funny how I'm a ugandan but I've never read anything from African literature.

@sejudav I know this for a fact, as a munyankole, my baganda friends often marvel at the ease at which I blatantly say some phrases live going to the toilet and vivid description of diseases. Where I grew up, a spade is most definitely a spade

Interest yourself in finding out when the crave to soften African words began. It was after COLONIZATION AND INTRODUCTION OF WESTERN CULTURE. This can't be a coincidence! Secondly, you are wrong to tie the EMPAAKO NAME SYSTEM to things like SOFTENING...There is no LINGUISTIC PURPOSE in the so-called COVERING UP WORDS(SOFTENING). It is EUROCENTRIC CONCEPT begotten of Christianity! EMPAAKO were introduced around 15th century by the BABIITO who had taken over BUNYORO-KITARA Empire. The word EMPAAKO itself directly comes from LUO WORD "PAKO"- meaning Praise.. So EMPAAKO were imposed as POWER TOOL to consolidate the power of the minority new Babiito rulers and had nothing to do with SOFTENING or Elder worship.... In fact, the claim that Omucwezi KAGORO had EMPAAKO ARAALI has been debunked by Historians. No other Muchwezi had it and therefore it would be an anomaly. In any case, LINGUISTIC EVIDENCE OF THE WORD(names)ORIGIN point to a LUO sources. So "SOFTENING" AFRICAN WORDS IS PURE COLONIALITY.
Magezi P R Apuuli@magezipr

@sejudav Afande, we live in diversity. The Batooro have the vocaulary 'okucugura,' but within Rutooro, there's 'Oruhenda' and 'Okusinda,' which soften some words. This is why the Batooro use 'Empaako' to soften calling a senior by name.

PM Gioegia Meloni is one of the most courageous women in the World today. From her denunciaton of French Colonialism in Africa, her principled stand against Trump's unilateral war against iran, especially denying U.S from using Italian airspace, and using the Airforce Base in Sicily to refuel American Bombers, and her threat to close American military Bases in Italy if U.S leaves NATO, very brave! Then her defence of Papacy against crazy attacks by Trump, and her resolute action of Suspending the Defence Agreement with Israel, etc... She is becoming a shining star of common sense and Courage!
Al Jazeera English@AJEnglish

“I’m shocked at her. I thought she had courage, but I was wrong,” US President Donald Trump has attacked Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, one of his main European allies, over her unwillingness to join the war on Iran aje.news/vzipn8

Im not proud of it; and i cry for using English to sing BIRTHDAY TO MY GRANDCHILDREN! This always brings me tears though I hide them not spoil the monent! So yes, it is a shame that I speak foreign language, called by a foreign religious name; use a foreign phone, indeed; but do you know what; I'm proud because im using them to TRAIN AFRICAN SOLDIERS WHO WILL COME GOOD AT THE RIGHT TIME! Like we were fighting the WAR OF RESISTANCE in the BUSH; we used to capture Obote's Army Radios for military communications; take away UNLA AMMUNITION, EVEN UNLA DRY RATION, even take off clothes from dead UNLA SOLDIERS and wear them, including Pants it! But we WON; so those were worth it. So we need to use these foreign gadgets and languages, and scientific knowledge for our own LIBERATION. THAT IS WHY I'M AT PEACE!
Baziwe David@BaziweD

@sejudav True, we still rely on the West for many things. But the bigger problem is becoming comfortable with dependency instead of building our own systems. So afande if you are tweeting using a phone and a software from the West it speaks louder.

WHAT THE ARSENAL CELEBRATIONS SAY ABOUT THE STATE OF AFRICA: First, I must start with a deferential acknowledgement(humility) that it is UNFAIR, even IRRESPONSIBLE for the people who have been in positions of leadership to blame African Youths for the way they are turning out to be; VERY UNFAIR! It is the LEADERS WHO HAVE LET DOWN AFRICA; BETRAYED OUR YOUTH to now WORSHIP European Football, fly to Paris for holidays and to Washington to give birth to children so they become U.S citizens🥲! In any case, we, the so-called adults are no better! We are just useless COMPRODOR BOURGEOISIE- FOREIGN AGENTS, who are Corrupt, really treacherous! Who still export raw coffee, unprocessed Gold, crude.....etc..70 YEARS AFTER THE SO-CALLED SHAM INDEPENDENCE! Continuing to rollout COLONIAL EDUCATION SYSTEMS on our children..; STEALING ALL THE MONEY, SO WE CAN'T CREATE JOBS FOR OUR YOUTHS. And so they go with their degrees to attend to mortuaries of dead Arabs and wash plates! Those who remain become STREET VAGABONDS,high on drugs, and desperate. So, PREDICTABLY, they get respite in ARSENAL AND MAN U..football....And then our underpaid POLICE FORCE RAID THEM and arrest them to take away the little they EARNED IN SPORTS BETTING....and impound their bikes(bodas)on loan until they pay the bribe, etc; and then they GET DESPERATE AND CAN ONLY GET PLEASURE WATCHING ARSENAL, and them EUROPEAN TEAMS!. So BROTHELS have opened up on our UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES where our desperate young girls and boys now SELL SEX to survive... And Corrupt politicians, after stealing government money go with their smelly mouths to pick these little girls and boys...... Why are we allowing UNCHECKED GAMBLING, so celled SPORTS GAMBLING? I hear, it is because the gambling companies belong to big shots!! HOW CAN THE YOUTH BE PATRIOTIC WHEN EXPOSED TO THESE CONDITIONS? I was building something here at the farm; and brought 9 lads from kla to help our people here. When Arsenal won, they all abandoned work, asked for halfpay and left to celebrate in KLA! Each was earning 45,000= a day! So I got others from Masaka! Work was for 2 weeks, they worked 5 days! That's the youth we have built and leaving behind to LIBERATE AFRICA AND SAVE THEIR LANDS AND MINERALS AND THEIR FREEDOMS!! Yes, we are not innocent ourselves; but for me, at least still have the courage to say MEA CULPA, MEA CULPA(my fault)....AND DEMAND CHANGE NOW. This is the situation on African continent, allover the place..... If it continues this way, then what i wrote earlier, of RIP AFRICA, will come to pass. I HOPE, THINGS WILL CHANGE!

Nyabo/Ssebo, get used to reading and stop talking like Nup activists! Kabanda is a Secretary General of the first ranking pressure group led by Mk! He has a lot of work on his plate during these stages of transition of power( what you don't know is that there is no transition going on?). I would like you to show me where Yoweri has ever appointed a secretary General of a political party! Do you think he doesn't love Tadwong too? Why are you just pointing at Kabanda just! Because he is the mouth piece of the first son? If you look at that list of Ministers, have you tried to see that over 40 of them are MUHOOZI'S people? So, your little knowledge tells you that Muhoozi can't ask Mzee to appoint Kabanda? Stop acting like a mediocre when you have a head to think!
Ka Sandrah@Sandrah_ug

Why do you think he wasn't given any ministerial position 🥺🥺

CIA had full knowledge about the plots and eventual killing of Tom Mboya. That's how it works my friend; doesn't have to pull the trigger, it shadows, provides intelligence, guides, them covers up.....
