More violent than the Trans Saharan Caravans where 20% of males, usually boys between 8 and 15, were brutally castrated with swords because eunuchs commanded higher prices. Some estimate the castration death rate as high as 90%, hence the commanding price. This practice was unique to this slave trade.

@JB46374796 @RockyMtnGreen @AandGShow And finding ways to reopen or find more refineries to support the regulations for California. Shutting down refineries that create the unique blend is begging for higher prices.😖 California is isolated because it only processes the blend in state.

@RockyMtnGreen @Disillusion211 @AandGShow Our state should be pumping and refining our own oil instead of importing 30 percent of it from the Middle East. Our politicians somehow thought it was wise to buy oil from an area of the world that has been unstable for most of my life.

The Aztecs literally ripped the beating hearts out of their SLAVES. Ritual sacrifice was witnessed by the European explorers! What? Slavery existed in the Americas? Life in the Americas was vicious and brutal. Capturing and enslaving others was common. Some tribes were perpetually at war. Some tribes used to scalp victims alive. Maybe read a real history book and ignore the distortions and disinformation of Howard Zinn’s advocacy book, a People’s History.

More violent than the 3000 year history of the TRANS SAHARAN slave trade which started 2500 years before the transatlantic and continued after slavery was outlawed in the US? Europeans didn’t invent slavery. Nearly every single slave in the Transatlantic slave trade was enslaved prior to being sold and shipped overseas. The European life expectancy in Africa during the transatlantic slave trade, was 1 year. Small bands of slave traders who tried catching slaves is a myth. Nearly every single slave was captured and enslaved by other African tribes through war and raids, placed in slavery for breaking laws, or used as payment for debts. You could trade family members. The main “producer and suppliers” of slaves were other Africans, who got very rich. The ruler of Dahomey, (Woman King movie) was one of the richest in Africa. Millions died in the Trans Saharan slave trade and was far more deadly and brutal than the middle passage. However, there is no outrage over the displacement of those slaves because they were sold to darker skinned people in the Middle East and beyond. It must kill you that abolition, that ended the world-wide trade of slavery, came from white, Christian, males. Read a book or two.

@WilliamMouwsud @TheRabbitHole @SkepResCenter Tell that to the slaves who had their beating hearts ripped from their chest on a daily basis during Aztec rituals. The Spanish explorers were shocked and horrified. That’s right. They ritually killed their SLAVES, before Europeans ever set foot on the continent.

Many Catholics in the United States are cafeteria Catholics. They pick and choose which dogma they believe in supporting. I was raised Catholic and felt that if I couldn’t buy into the whole program, then it is pretty hypocritical to claim I was a good Catholic while ignoring the church’s positions.

I’m sorry that I didn’t make my point clearly, but yes Matthew is correct. The Unions have a stranglehold on education. There is no diversity of thought. I worked in CA and of course it is even worse but only by a small amount; the percentages of liberal teachers is almost universal. Teachers spend time in credentialing and foundations classes that are all well versed with a panapoly of social justice and progressive ideology. Personally I believe that much of the shift we are seeing in the political sphere is from the constant bombardment of the students with victim culturehood and a lot of anti-American Social Studies. Teachers feel entitled to parent other people’s children. (Did you ever notice that the teacher unions use red as their color? Why was the walk out on May 1? There is a reason…) Progressivism has replaced Christianity as the new religion in school. When schools teach about sexuality, white guilt, anti-American beliefs, and other values and beliefs, they are imprinting their world views and political beliefs. You must agree with their dogma or you are a heretic. Heretics must be stopped and destroyed at all costs. It is a mixing of politics and molding it into a personal belief system. There is no God, so their view is based on their self image of having the moral high ground. Look at what happened in North Carolina on May Day. Read the signs of the protestors. You must accept their beliefs against Capitalism. You must be anti-Racist, you must accept that men can have babies. (Yes Winston, men have always been able to have babies. Remember, 2 + 2 = 5. It always has). These are the beliefs of the people coming out of our teacher education programs. Don’t get me wrong, I do not believe that all public schools should teach religion. But we also shouldn’t be beholden to a Godless religion. The only way around it is to provide school choice and providing places/schools to place students who don’t want to go to class or cooperate. People want to send their kids to a school where they get pushed to achieve their potential. Not every student is going to MIT. However we should provide them with skills to go to either a university or trade school…

When someone defends the DOE, ask them if test scores have risen since we opened the Department in 1980? Ask them to name or quantify the increase in student achievement that is a direct result of the DOE? Race to the Top? No Child Left Behind? Common Core? All great ideas that say “We are doing something” but rarely do we measure actual success of the ideas. Often, after the money has been spent, we found that nothing was achieved. When Obama gave an additional $7 billion for the bottom 5%, of uperforming schools up to $ 2 million per school. At the time the government reported that there was no significant change in multiple measures. We could have placed a bag of wet cement at each school and achieved the same results. What did we learn? We can’t reduce underperforming schools from a Federal level with inconsistent goals, changing administrations and oversight far removed from the actual programs. But the unions want the DOE. So…

As a 35 year veteran teacher with a Master’s in Educational Leadership, the unions and progressives are increasing the demand for school choice. I was part of a team that fired a grossly incompetent teacher. The absolute worst teacher. It took 3 years and a stack of documentation 3 feet tall. He reached a settlement to resign because the day he decided he wanted to go to court, the cost to the district was over $100k. I have been part of a team trying to fire a teacher for dating a student (confirmed) but couldn’t prove they had sex before she turned 18 in March of her senior year. We couldn’t fire him but he got transferred to a Middle School. The reason schools have troubles is because of the monolithic thinking that prioritizes doing things but not accomplishing anything. In 2014, Obama gave an extra $7 Billion to target underperforming schools. The overwhelming majority of scores for most of the schools participating WENT DOWN or remained the same. We spent $7 Billion and got worse results. We could have put a bag of wet cement at each school and achieved the same result.

Maybe we should look to the 10th amendment? Education is the role of the states and people. The Federal government creates a dependency to the Feds for money, roughly 14% in California, but then mandate how the money is spent. The Federal funding never covers enough or the waste and fraud also eat into general funding. Public education has become this monolithic monstrosity that is run by far left ideologues. 99% of teacher union donations go to progressive and far left candidates and causes. Families need choices. Schools need to be able to set real behavior standards and be able to remove students who don’t want to cooperate. We should be creating more straight job skills programs for those that want to focus on trades. Communities need to take their schools back. The cities and counties can create targeted support for the kids who want

@justmoorebeauty @Disillusion211 @CheyneSeleski @DeAngelisCorey I asked Google a lot about the DOE. Around 71% of funding goes to colleges through loans & grants, 23% to k-12 schools. Even before staff reductions & restructuring the college loan& grant department had fewer than 1,500 employees out of over 4,100. Seems a bit disproportionate

The ICE surge was because local governments weren’t cooperating with the police. As you state, it worked and local governments cooperated with ICE. When local governments stopped cooperating, ICE agents had to go to their homes and/or track them down in the community. A legal procedure and carried out in many states without issue. Minneapolis and Minnesota leadership interfered in the process with ICE. Since local forces weren’t cooperating, ICE had to bring in more support staff for their safety. The people do not have the right to interfere with Federal enforcement of immigration laws, nor do they get a VETO power over the enforcement of those laws. The bloodless way was cooperating with each other.

@Disillusion211 @CodeSlinger707 @xwanyex Again, even without the cooperation, the Republicans and the Democrats had figured out a way to handle this with no blood being shed. It was Trump's ice surge that flipped the public on all of this. The Republicans were winning until Trump interfered x.com/i/status/20489…

@aTmtremble @CodeSlinger707 @xwanyex Greg Abbott bussing migrants to sanctuary cities seemed like it was turning the tide on immigration enforcement naturally, so the big spectacle of having ice sweep cities seems even more unnecessary considering the public was gaining support for deportations. The cruelty is dumb

All Things Considered did a story about the shooter, addressing the question of whether he had been radicalized by left-wing content on the internet. The host concluded that, no, actually, his views are really quite mainstream. The correspondent chimed in to ask whether this isn’t actually scarier, in its own way. The host pushed passed his question and reiterated that the shooter’s views appear to be quite widely held.

The local governments COOPERATED with ICE. The local politicians created the situation by not working with the agents. You admit that yourself. Why could Obama send in agents and suddenly under Trump, it’s an issue? The deaths in Minneapolis were because of the lack of cooperation.

@CodeSlinger707 @xwanyex Obama deported more than Trump and he did it bloodlessly by just having ice hit up jails and see if anyone there had an expired Visa. That was the smart way of handling it. What you're saying is untrue. Liberals don't like ice's current tactics.
