Rico says asking Vince McMahon for a raise is what Unlitemately led to his WWE release:
“I went and asked Vince for a raise..I said, ‘I want $1,000 a week.’ Minimum [is what he was making], somewhere $75,000 a year. Not including royalties, pay-per-views, video games, dolls. I wanted a $52,000 raise on top of the $75,000.
“I thought I was worth it, and Charlie and I and Jackie [Gayda] were about to come out on the SmackDown magazine cover. He told me I wasn't popular.”

@spindadaleak @lthomasnews @danawhite Did they offer him a one fight deal? This is a two-way street. Francis doesn’t have to accept whatever they offer. This is just a power play by Dana White because he has a monopoly and can bully people. The fight could easily be made if Dana wanted it made.
English

@DisplacedMiner @lthomasnews @danawhite it’s francis. dana white and ufc already offered him a contract. francis denied it so he could box.
English

He’s signed an 8-fight in 2023. He’s completed 2 of them, meaning there are 6 remaining.
6 UFC fights.
He’ll never get out of that deal, not under any timeline that matters.

Jon Jones said he wants to get out of his UFC contract to fight Francis Ngannou 😳 “I don’t think Dana’s interested in doing business with Francis. If we can get out of my contract, that’d be great.” (via @MostVpromotions)

@redsteeze Much like sideline reporters: the hotness keeps them around.

I am going to hopefully rid the bad taste from #KeyshawnAlbright2 by putting on #RouseyCarano MMA event on Netflix. Let's see if it's decent or a train wreck.

@aakashgupta They compose well when I burn them in the back yard.

Michelin first showed this concept in 2005. Twenty-one years later, it still can't go on your car. The reason is pure physics.
That tire looks like it belongs on a Mars rover. The flexible spoke structure replaces compressed air entirely. Instead of an air column absorbing road shocks, those curved polymer spokes flex and spring back under load, carrying the full weight of the vehicle without a single PSI of pressure.
A pneumatic tire sheds heat through its air volume, the same way your lungs cool your body from the inside. Those spokes have no internal airflow. Every flex cycle generates heat with nowhere to dump it. Above 80 km/h, it builds fast. Goodyear tested airless tires on a Tesla Model 3 and completed 120,000 km at up to 160 km/h. Two problems they couldn't crack: heat dissipation and cabin noise. The spokes create tonal resonance peaks that make the ride measurably louder and harsher than standard radials at highway speed.
The reason they keep trying: 1 billion tires hit end-of-life every year. 4 billion are sitting in landfills right now. A single tire takes up to 2,000 years to decompose. 200 million are scrapped early just from punctures and underinflation.
Michelin already sells airless tires for lawn mowers, skid steers, and military vehicles since 2012. GM signed a co-development deal targeting 2024 passenger car production. That deadline passed. DHL ran delivery van trials in 2023 at low speeds. Works perfectly there.
The gap between "delivery van at 30 mph" and "your commute at 75 mph" is the entire engineering problem. The pneumatic tire was patented in 1888. 138 years later, a tube of compressed air is still the most elegant solution anyone has found for absorbing road energy at speed.

@designby_s @ZachSchumaker I don’t blame anyone, or care. I scored it live, and went back and scored it without a room full of people talking. Fury won both times. I believe you will come to the same conclusion. Most people discuss fights on emotions or gut, but boxing matches aren’t scored that way.
English

@DisplacedMiner @ZachSchumaker Blame Fury for making it a fight when he shouldn’t have lol
English

We've never seen a physical specimen like Francis Ngannou.
Financially? He won.
Legacy-wise? Severely mismanaged.
What he could have accomplished with the right fights is insane to think about. #RouseyCarano
English

@designby_s @ZachSchumaker I suggest you rewatch and rescore the fight. I’ve done so a couple times. I can’t get to a Francis victory on the cards.
English

@DisplacedMiner @ZachSchumaker The whole world did lol

@ZachSchumaker If I were him I wouldn't give a fuck about legacy. A gladiator that earns his freedom doesn't go back to the Colosseum for legacy.
Francis won his freedom.
English

@designby_s @ZachSchumaker Getting robbed? You don’t believe that.
English

@ZachSchumaker Francis Ngannou’s legacy
- UFC Heavyweight champion
- beat 4 UFC champions (former and present)
- beat a PFL champion
-made $20mil fighting AJ and Fury (knocking down Fury and getting robbed btw)
Funny how MMA people care about legacy all of a sudden lool
English

@ZachSchumaker Something to be said for not supporting a monopoly. It’s not always finically rewarding to do so, but Ngannou did the right thing. @danawhite continues to act like a monopolist and freeze him out.

The Democrats paid attention and got the judges elected in WV. They picked a judge who interjects his vaccine beliefs into parenting plans and a Delegate who openly admitted to smoking marijuana when ill and it was illegal. Interesting choices #wvpol

HUGE night for West Virginia, as we win major races in the House of Delegates and Senate. So happy to be joined by Charles Hartzog, who had a tremendous win over House of Delegates Finance Chairman, Vernon Criss. I’m optimistic about our state’s future and our ability to make West Virginia that shining state in the mountains.
