@AS90425047 @BobbinBobert @prestonstew_ They didn't have a nuke before, they still don't. No change. They had material to enrich, they still do. No change. The theocratic regime was in power, still is. No change. The military has been diminished, but can be rebuilt.

@tracyharms @revsully @nerd_cookies Do you think the Planetologist's position was that important? Kynes might have never met with the Emperor, so it's doubtful he would've been subjected to a Truthsayer.

@DivineShadow33 @revsully @nerd_cookies There’s definitely ambiguity as to how much the Emperor was informed, but (1) Kynes is depicted as having overlapping loyalties, not conflicting loyalties, & (2) a Truthsayer assisted the Emperor on matters of such importance.

In the book, Chani is Liet Kynes’ daughter. Would establishing this connection in the films have strengthened or weakened her character?🤔

🇮🇷🇺🇸🤔 Trump on Iran: They gave us a big present worth a tremendous amount of money; it arrived today. It was oil and gas related. We are dealing with the right people. We have really regime changed; this is a change in the regime because the leaders are all very different than the ones we started off with.

@DanFriedman81 So far they haven't lost that much. Yes, some personnel, some high level figures, but the regime is generally intact and still in power.

@fandompulse Instead of remaking it, they should just reboot it with new characters, maybe do a baton handover by Scully and Mulder to the new agents in the pilot or something.

Gillian Anderson says Ryan Coogler's pilot script for his 'X-Files' series is 'really good' “Have an open mind and give it a chance because it’s going to be f***ing cool ... It's different, and it's special" It also features at least one race-swapped character. Are you going to give it a chance?

@revsully @tracyharms @nerd_cookies Yeah, yeah, nice tune, didn't help them much, did it? ;-) BTW, I'd love to see a SERIOUS (or at least not as absurdist as "Lexx" was) series set in the League of 20,000 Planets setting. That pilot TV movie was super dark and the vibe just floored me the first time I saw it.

@JamesRaxz Bring back Alan Ruck as Captain Harriman and someone new to play Captain Rachel Garrett for a “Lost Era” show fleshing out the transition from the Enterprise B to the Enterprise C.

@A_Sober_Drunk @djairrick The first one did well. The second and third not so much. Because many fans were disappointed with the first one, those who stayed were even more disappointed with the second one.

@djairrick "the older fans aren't coming back" Abrams Trek absolutely killed the box office. Because of old Trek fans like me.

@djairrick Shitty writing will not pull younger viewers in. They have standards too. And I disagree about older fans not coming back. Just give us something worth coming back to.

@tracyharms @revsully @nerd_cookies Yeah, it was the sietch name - he was known among the Fremen as Liet. The outsiders didn't know it was the same person as Kynes, Liet was seen as sort of a spiritual leader. Not sure if the Emperor knew.

@DivineShadow33 @revsully @nerd_cookies IMO Liet was his/her Fremen name, known across sietchs, not his secret name. It seemed to be (and was) a secret name because his status as Fremen was hidden from the Houses, with exception of House Corrino. Kynes was his open name as rep. of the Emperor.

@revsully @nerd_cookies OK, just checked, and yeah, Thufir calls her Doctor Liet Kynes when talking about her, then she's introduced the same way by Gurney when meeting Leto.
