What struck me is how consistently they say, “that night was just our lucky day,” or “Mahadev protected us,” or “Maa Kali was watching over us.” These are men who’ve seen the harshest realities -bloodshed, fear, losing brothers in their arms - yet they carry a deep humility, often crediting something beyond themselves rather than claiming personal glory. As someone who has vitiligo, this almost brought tears to my eyes. Years ago, I gave up the tedious process of covering up my white spots everytime I went out. I wanted to break the stigma and I wanted to be free from self doubt. I achieved it to a large extent. But this will help so so many young girls and boys. This just makes me so happy.
