Never been embarrassed to wear the same fit twice, never been embarrassed to have 1 pair of shoes, never been embarrassed to sleep on the floor,Never been embarrassed to struggle. You gotta go through hard times before you live lavish. I know its on the way so i'm forever humble.

Unless you’re applying to a really terrible company (mostly one man show disguised as a company), your take home task, no matter how 'difficult' you think it is, is not making it to production. You’ll understand how ridiculous you sound if you finally get the job and make it through the probation period. Nobody is using you for free work. The scope of the task is so small that it is completely unusable. It looks unreasonable to you because you’re actually not at that skill level. Like, did you even look at the profiles of the engineers who currently work there? Who do you think your are? 😂

@Osi_Suave You're missing the issues here, they don't hire entry level devs / marketting execs. They hire only seniors & leads, then try to pay them peanuts.

The endgame of competence is simple: you become so skilled, so resourceful, and so strategically embedded that whether it’s a company, a relationship, or a project, the rational move for everyone involved is to keep you, reward you, and bet on you, because losing you would cost them more than they’re willing to pay.

Some of you will succeed because you’re insane and stubborn. Life beats you, doors shut, you get thrown out the ring battered… but you keep coming back, You crawl back every single time. That mindset is why you’ll get everything you want.

one way to get ahead in life: when you are bored, choose to do something that moves your life forward. e.g; learn a new skill, a new language, put in an application, apply to a new job, think of a new way to do something that is already the status-quo - the list is endless.

We get it! You hate men. You don't want sons. You'd rather be around bears. You don't wanna be married to men. You won't take a man's last name. Nothing you do is for a man. WE GET IT😂!

Only when a man returns to God will he have an understanding of what his life is all about and his purpose. There’s no other way except through Christ.

One day you’ll start your own company and understand why they do this. If you don’t have good work ethics and professionalism, your skills or expertise is useless. Your employees will actively try to sabotage the very business that is their primary source of income. That level of shortsightedness is what we refer to as being 'street smart'. Try to run a modern company where everybody is addressed by their first name, no micromanagement because you trust people to do their job, be flexible with work hours, etc, and some of your employees will take advantage of what they consider as 'free time' and start running a side business during work hours or even worse, get a second job with a competitor. I told someone that in Germany once you have a child you’re entitled to parental leave where you get paid 2/3 of your previous salary, don’t have to work for up to 3 years per child, and your employer is required to keep your job for whenever you return. Guess how the person responded. The Nigerian in them immediately thought about how to have a child every 3 years to avoid working while getting paid and also take the full 3 years parental leave. Instead of seeing it as an insurance for their job and they can always go back to the workforce without child birth as an obstacle, they choose to have a stagnant career, remain in the same salary band for 3+ years as long as they don’t have to work. This is why in public secondary schools, the principal and some other teachers will be in their shops in the market on a Tuesday afternoon when they’re supposed to be teaching students. If you try to insist that they do their jobs, they’ll say you’re doing too much. It’s easy to think it’s because they’re not paid 'global rate‘ until you realise that even senators and federal ministers who earn 'global rate' don’t do their jobs well. It’s a culture of trying to cheat the next person. They hire foreigners because they don’t have this culture. At scale when you don’t have time to micromanage people, you’ll need to hire people with integrity. When you need a lot of them, you’ll be forced to hire foreigners after exhausting the few options you have locally.

One day, we will talk about how many Nigerians companies prefer to employ foreigners in the key positions of their company and employ Nigerians to do the mere jobs.
