The DoW is immediately suspending CMMC Phase II requirements to clear bureaucratic roadblocks for the DIB. We must scale warfighter readiness, not paperwork. What you need to know: · Phase II & costly administrative burdens are paused. · Phase I self-assessments remain firmly in place. · NIST SP 800-171 Rev 2 and DFARS 252.204-7012 compliance are still required. · Focus is shifting to tangible cybersecurity and operational resilience, not red tape. To uplift cybersecurity while eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy, we’ve launched a 60-day review on the future of the program to be led by a CMMC Reform Task Force. Today’s innovation cycles are measured in weeks and months, not decades, which is why @DoWCIODavies Hon. Davies' visit with K-Form, DTI, and MOLG alongside @SBA_Kelly Loeffler, Hon. Michael Duffey, and the SBA team reinforced the mandate to cut the red tape stifling the innovation needed to build the Arsenal of Freedom. Suspending CMMC Phase II requirements means the @DeptofWar will never force key innovators to choose between defending their country and staying in business as we rapidly build an agile, secure, and resilient defense industrial base delivering decisive capabilities to warfighters.

The @DeptofWar is prioritizing efficiency and readiness for the defense industrial base. Yesterday, the DoW Chief Information Officer @DoWCIODavies announced the suspension of CMMC Phase II requirements to cut the red tape to re-industrialize America. The Department remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding our digital ecosystem and reducing the risks affiliated with cyber attacks, while still ensuring our warfighters have access to leading edge commercial capabilities, and that our DIB has every ability they need to accelerate production. We can do both - we must do both.

The @DeptofWar is focused on reducing the cost of bureaucratic compliance without compromising the critical importance of cybersecurity. As @SBA_Kelly Loeffler highlighted, we want American businesses investing in their innovation and tangible cybersecurity measures, not bureaucratic compliance exercises.
