Iran-affiliated cyber actors are targeting operational technology devices across US critical infrastructure, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs). These attacks have led to diminished PLC functionality, manipulation of display data and, in some cases, operational disruption and financial loss. The @FBI, @CISAGov, @NSAgov, @EPA, @ENERGY and @US_CYBERCOM are urging US organizations—especially municipalities and those in the water and energy sectors—to review the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and indicators of compromise (IOCs) detailed in this advisory. Consistent with all applicable laws, NSA investigates any mishandling or unauthorized disclosure of intelligence and partners closely with @TheJusticeDept and @FBI to ensure the necessary steps are taken to hold those accountable. Distinct from unauthorized disclosures and working closely with NSA’s Office of General Counsel, NSA ensures that whistleblowing is protected by Federal laws, policies and procedures.”

We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Deputy Director, Barbara McNamara, a pioneering figure at the National Security Agency. In 1994, she became the first woman to lead the Directorate of Operations and later served as Deputy Director from 1997 to 2000, greatly enhancing intelligence cooperation and production. Inducted into the Cryptologic Hall of Honor in 2020, her lasting contributions to the NSA's mission to protect our Nation will forever be remembered.
