India has deposited its Instrument of Acceptance of the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, becoming the 123rd WTO member to join the agreement. The Agreement promotes sustainable marine fisheries, enhances India's standing as a responsible seafood exporter, and reinforces its commitment to a transparent, rules-based multilateral trading system. Importantly, aquaculture and inland fisheries remain outside its scope.
