To understand how dangerous Paraquat is.... If a patient arrives at an emergency room struggling to breathe, the very 1st thing a doc does is hook them up to a pure oxygen tank. But if that patient has swallowed Paraquat, giving them oxygen will actively kill them faster. Paraquat destroys tissue by a process called oxidative stress. The chemical steals electrons inside human cells & uses them to turn ordinary oxygen molecules into highly destructive, microscopic wrecking balls. Therefore, if a doctor pumps pure oxygen into the patient's lungs, they are essentially throwing high-octane gasoline onto a chemical fire. The chemical was originally created by European companies. The EU, the United Kingdom, Switzerland & even China banned its use long ago because of how toxic it is. Yet, MNCs continued to manufacture it inside Europe & export it in bulk to developing nations like India, profiting off markets with looser regulations.

These are the 111 districts the government flagged as vulnerable to El Niño 2026 — and 69 are already rainfall deficient. Nearly six in 10 of India's most vulnerable farm districts are already receiving below-normal rainfall, disrupting kharif sowing and increasing the risk of crop losses and rural distress. 📍Explore our interactive map to see if your district is on the list, how much rain it has received so far, and its irrigation priority. While no one in India (except for usual suspects and fifth column advocates of Pakistan) needs to shed any tears for the mess that is Pakistan, to be complacent and laid back will be to invite a Pakistani attack - terrorist, if they want India to initiate the first over strike; conventional, if they want to up the ante. Be prepared. Have a list of targets ready to hit back hard within hours if not minutes. Heed the warning that @Utpal_Kumar1 is giving. Don’t slacken the vigil. And don’t drink your own kool aid that pakis won’t do something stupid because they are too enmeshed in their own troubles.
Firstpost@firstpost

Compounding the danger is another enduring feature of Pakistan’s strategic culture: The establishment’s remarkable capacity to believe its own propaganda. Victories are exaggerated, defeats are buried, and strategic failures are repackaged as triumphs. firstpost.com/opinion/when-p…

🇮🇳 From Punjab Armed Police constables to Indian Army officers—this is a story of grit, sacrifice and unwavering determination. 🪖✨ Every day, Lovepreet Singh and Anmol Sharma reported for duty as constables in the Punjab Armed Police. But behind the uniform, they carried a dream that refused to fade—to one day wear the stars of a commissioned officer in the Indian Army. ⭐🇮🇳 To chase that dream, they enrolled at the Indian Special Task Force Centre, Kapurthala, undergoing 18 months of relentless preparation while continuing their police responsibilities. 🌅 Morning: Gruelling physical training. 📚 Night: Hours of studying after duty. 🛕 A nearby temple became their quiet classroom, where they revised, prepared and kept their dream alive. The journey wasn't easy. ❌ They faced repeated failures. ❌ Many told them to stop dreaming. ❌ Some even advised them to accept life as constables and move on. But they refused to give up. 💪 Every setback became another reason to work harder. Their perseverance finally paid off when both earned admission to the prestigious Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. 🎖️ On 8 March 2025, they completed the iconic 'Antim Pag' and were commissioned as officers in the Indian Army. 🇮🇳 Lieutenant Lovepreet Singh from Amritsar and Lieutenant Anmol Sharma from Kapurthala had transformed a dream into reality. 🌟 Their journey reminds us that success is not decided by where you begin—but by your courage to keep moving despite failures, criticism and obstacles. 👏 Salute to these young officers whose determination proves that resilience, discipline and self-belief can change destinies. Dream big. Stay consistent. Never let your current position define your future. 🇮🇳❤️ #IndianArmy #OfficerTrainingAcademy #OTA #PunjabArmedPolice #Lieutenant #DefenceForces #Inspiration #SuccessStory #Leadership #ServiceBeforeSelf #MilitaryLife #IndianMasterminds

In recent times, several mid and senior level scientists have left ISRO, and the response now appears to be tighter restrictions on those seeking to resign. Retention cannot be built on restrictions. If you want to keep talented scientists, give them meaningful opportunities, greater autonomy, challenging programmes, and clear career prospects. Otherwise, let them move on. The same principle applies across our strategic R&D ecosystem DRDO, HAL, NAL, and others. India has an exceptional pool of scientific talent, but too often its potential is constrained by mediocre decision-making. Technology is sovereignty. The sooner we recognise that, the better.

"Why should I buy from you instead of importing from China?" If you're selling in India: • Get products in ~7 days, not 60-70. • Lower MOQs, better cash flow. • Faster customisation. • Lower landed cost than importing (apples-to-apples). • Products continuously improved for Indian consumers. In 2026, we've built mixer grinders, hand mixers, hand blenders, USB choppers, electric choppers, fans, and massagers for our clients. We're not trying to beat China. We're building a better manufacturing partner for brands selling in India. If you're looking for a reliable Indian manufacturing partner, let's talk. Link in the first comment.

From the generic antibiotics saving lives in rural district hospitals to the advanced formulations stocked in elite Western medical centers, the world’s health is quietly secured by the legacy of a Bihari underdog who stood outside a hospital gate & decided that India would no longer beg the West for the science of survival. In the scorching summer of 1953, a 28 yr old man stands outside the gates of Patna Medical College Hospital, staring at the throngs of poor patients waiting in line. His clothes are covered in dust & his pockets are virtually empty. His name is Samprada Singh. He is the son of a modest farmer from Okri, a tiny, flood-prone village in Bihar’s Jehanabad district. He had desperately wanted to become a doc to heal his people, but his family's grinding poverty crushed that dream. Determined to break out, he became the 1st person in his entire village to get a college degree. But a degree in 1950s Bihar guarantees nothing. To survive, Samprada tried farming, but droughts wiped him out. He tried selling umbrellas on the streets of Patna, but the margins were microscopic. Now, standing outside the hospital, he notices a tragic, systemic pattern: patients are not just suffering from diseases; they are suffering because they cannot find/afford basic, routine medicines. In post-independence India, the entire pharma sector is completely colonized, dominated by massive Western multinationals who sell vital drugs at exorbitant markups. With borrowed money, Samprada takes a massive gamble. He rents a tiny, cramped room near the hospital gates & opens a retail chemist shop. The local elite look down on him, a college graduate reducing himself to a low-tier shopkeeper. But Samprada has a burning realization: If foreign companies can profit off Indian pain, why cannot an ordinary Indian farmer's son manufacture high-quality, life-saving cures at a fraction of the cost? For ~20 yrs, Samprada grinds through the lower rungs of the trade. He graduates from retail to wholesale distribution, setting up Magadh Pharma. But distribution does not satisfy his soul, he wants to create. In 1970, he tries a manufacturing partnership with Aristo Labs, but it collapses in bitter disagreements & failed logistics. In his late 40s, an age when most men look toward retirement, Samprada loses almost everything. But instead of returning to Bihar defeated, he calls his younger brother, Basudeo Narayan Singh, who is working as a humble teacher. Samprada tells him: "Pack your bags & come to Bombay. We are going to build our own factory from scratch." In 1973, in a tiny, rented room in Bombay, the 2 brothers incorporate Alkem Laboratories. They are absolute corporate underdogs facing a brutal industrial reality: They have no money for delivery vans/distribution networks. In the early yrs, the younger brother, Basudeo despite holding a prestigious master's degree personally hoists heavy wooden crates of medicine onto his shoulders, walking through the train stations & manually delivering stock to local distributors. Western pharma giants like Glaxo & Pfizer mock the 2 brothers from Bihar, assuming their small-scale generic drugs will never pass international quality audits. But Samprada enforces a fanatical, zero-compromise standard of chemical purity. He reinvests every single rupee of profit into state of the art lab testing, mastering the complex chemistry of anti-infectives & antibiotics. The corporate world tries repeatedly to split the brothers, but their bond is unbreakable. Samprada is the visionary mind planning macro-expansion; Basudeo is the iron-fisted operational general on the factory floor. Together, they out-work & out maneuver the slow, bureaucratic multi-national corporations. When Samprada Singh passed away in 2019 at the age of 94, the man who once sold umbrellas on the streets of Patna had built a colossal global powerhouse. Today, Alkem Laboratories is an undisputed titan, ranked among the top pharmaceutical giants in the country, operating across 40 +countries, including the ultra-stringent US & European markets.
