My friend gave me a premium gist earlier today. A colleague started residency 2 months ago in public health in a federal teaching hospital with 8 consultants, 4 senior registrars and 2 registrars(herself inclusive) Apparently a senior registrar was being toxic to her, she didn't say anything, for two days she didn't come to work, they called her to ask why and she said " she is not doing again, she can't keep up with the toxicity" That was how all the consultants started calling her, and begging her to come back so they can iron out the issues, meanwhile another department in that same hospital was already warming up to receive her.😂 Out of respect for the professors she had to go back with the promise of zero toxicity.

Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.” When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans. In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it. Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

BEING THE TEXT OF THE WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY SENATOR DAVID MARK, CHAIRMAN OF AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (ADC) ON APRIL 2, 2026, AT THE SHEHU YAR’ADUA CENTRE, ABUJA. THIS ATTACK ON DEMOCRACY WILL NOT STAND On behalf of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and lovers of democracy, I welcome you all to this world press conference. Since 1999, Nigeria has been under democratic rule. After 27 years, we thought we could proudly celebrate the entrenchment of democracy, believing that the country’s dictatorial past has receded into history. Our experience in the past three years or so since President Bola Tinubu came to power has however confirmed otherwise. Democracy is only sustained by the quality of freedom that it offers and guarantees, especially the freedom to choose, the freedom to participate, and the freedom to associate. These freedoms are so critical to democracy that without them, democracy dies. Yet, in the past three years, we have witnessed a relentless assault on these very freedoms. The agenda is very clear, to create a situation where, in 2027, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges as the only option left for the people, despite the widespread suffering and wanton killings going on across the country. The twin challenge of deepening poverty, and worsening security situation in the country did not just happen. They are direct consequences of the failure of this government. They know that Nigerians will not want this to continue. They know Nigerians will vote them out. This is why they would do anything to hang on to power by hook or crook. Background to the Coalition The coalition of opposition parties came about as a result of a collective search for democratic freedom and the desire to resist what was clearly a relentless assault on opposition political parties. The coalition leaders decided to come together under ADC to save multi-party democracy in Nigeria and rescue Nigeria from what was clearly an emerging dictatorship. We did not come to the ADC by chance. We did our due diligence. We fulfilled all the party’s constitutional requirements, as well as all wider requirements under the laws that guide the management and operation of political parties. In furtherance of this process, a NEC meeting was convened on July 29th, 2025, monitored by INEC officials. One of the conclusions of that NEC meeting was the dissolution of the National Working Committee of the party, and the ratification of a caretaker committee to take over the affairs of the party, with my humble self, David Mark, as the National Chairman; Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the National Secretary; as well as others who have since been serving as officers of the party. In addition to witnessing this process that brought in the new leadership of the party, a formal report of these resolutions was subsequently communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). On September 9th, 2025, INEC then uploaded the names of the relevant NWC members of the party, based on the NEC resolutions. One of the officials in the dissolved NWC was Nafiu Bala, who was one of the Deputy National Chairmen of the party. It is on record that Gombe resigned this position on 17th May, 2025. His resignation was also duly transmitted to INEC on the 12th of August, 2025. Regardless of his resignation, he decided to approach the courts on September 2nd, 2025, four clear months after his resignation, seeking to be recognised as the Chairman of the ADC. What this means is that by the 2nd of September, when he approached the courts, INEC was already aware that Secretary Aregbesola and I had been inaugurated on the 29th of July in a process monitored by INEC. INEC was also aware that Gombe had resigned his position before the said inauguration on the 29th of July.

Residency Tip: Your Senior Explained It Once. There Will Be No Season 2. Write. Things. Down. I don't care if you use a notebook, your phone, a napkin, or your own forearm. When your senior teaches you something mid-case - that information was a LIMITED EDITION DROP. It will not be repeated. If you ask the same question twice, your senior won't yell. Worse. They'll just look at you. That quiet disappointment. That "I expected nothing and I'm still let down" face. You'll carry that expression in your nightmares for 3 years. So carry a pocket diary. After every case, every round, every scolding - write the lesson down. Review it before sleep like it's your ex's Instagram. This habit alone makes you top 10% because your competition is out there raw-dogging residency with zero notes and vibes-based medicine. The bar is in hell. Pick it up.

Someone came for an interview late and they asked him why ? He said he woke up early but BRT delayed him for hours. The interviewer said what was your contingency plan knowing that BRT is not reliable? He started looking . The interviewer again said does that mean your situational awareness is zero? He wanted to talk, then he paused again . And then he tried to talk again but started stammering. The interviewer again said your resume says you can work under pressure, are you displaying that right now? He was just looking. I felt for him

Then you join them and they use toxicity to pursue you out of the system. 🙂🙂. We're really not ready. 🙂🙂 Degrading and down talking your junior colleagues in front of everyone, humiliating them, never appreciating them, gaslighting them, insulting them, punishing them all in the name of training them. Everyone has dreams, but the system of Nigeria turns those dreams into Nightmares that haunt you.

Things are very easy to do once you're a nepo baby. Mo Abudu was born in the UK and schooled there. She came back to Nigeria and got employed as HR in ExxonMobil. She worked for about seven years, which is enough to build something. If you're not solid financially and you leave your job to go after your purpose, you'll cry bitter tears. I remember my mentor always telling me that you cannot fuel your passion unless you've made money.

A 24-year-old G1P0 is brought in after 40 hours of obstructed labor at home. 🏥 The fetal heart rate is absent. The mother is septic and her uterus is on the verge of rupture. To save her life, you perform a destructive delivery. The sound of metal on bone echoes through the ward. The family catches a glimpse of the disarticulated remains. "Ritual murder!" the father screams. 📢 A mob forms at the gate, armed with petrol canisters, convinced the surgical team has harvested the infant. ⛽🔥 You are the Lead Surgeon. How do you explain a "mutilating" procedure as the gold standard of care to a grieving, violent mob?

Tinubu is a ruthless pragmatism and the memory of 20/10/20 is still fresh. He's going to go scorched earth on any serious protests to challenge his government. The moment a protest gathers momentum, they would hijack it by infiltrating it with violent protest, then shoot all of the protestants. Then at the end of the day, they'd deny all of it and say they brought army only to control it. Unless Nigerians are ready to die in record numbers, we can't kick out this government.
