UMass (A-10) was in the 1996 Final Four, are they not mid-major? Also Utah (WAC) was in that Sweet 16 as well 🤔🤔🤔

@SBUnfurled You're right. Some do. But the networks would get higher rankings from at large teams which would usually be from a major conference. Like 10 and 11 seeds.

@DonLostInTN Auto-bids already do play in. This would give them extra exposure, eight additional NCAA units ($2 million each) to those teams and conferences, remove often difficult travel requirements, and make the overall bracket stronger.

The NCAA Tournament will expand soon, whether we like it or not. I took a stab at my ideal 72-team bracket format. (Yes, I know the cartel won't allow this and it isn't perfect. It's just meant to be a concept showing one possibility.)

@DonLostInTN @CraigGrafx Holly was the better recruiter. Don’t think she was the better coach. Her teams would win big games but then struggle against bad teams, which is the sign of a talented but undisciplined team.

At 14-3 Kim Caldwell changed her system mid-year because of a locker room revolt. She agreed to a compromise & put in a plan B-went to a softer press, kept her starters on the floor longer, less rotations, walked the ball up the court on offense & went 2-11 in her final 13 games.

@BadChoiceBurner I remember that day lol. That’s a Shaq LSU team vs Kenny Anderson, Dennis Scott, Brian Oliver Georgia Tech team. As well as Jim Jackson and Ohio State vs The Runnin Rebs with Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony, and Larry Johnson. Also Ball State the 12 seed upset 4th Louisville.

@slmandel They're (the NCAA) are fine with it, keeps the ratings high. Nobody wants to see VCU/GWU in the final four again.

Well, this is not an encouraging trend for Cinderellas. ... The NCAA tournament went to 64 teams in 1985. Only 7 times have the 13-14-15 seeds all gone winless in the first round. It's now happened two years in a row (for the first time).

I love when fans yell ‘well what would they do in the SEC?!? They wouldn’t win more than 5 games.’ Saint Louis beat 10-8 in the SEC by 25 last night. VCU beat 12-6 in the ACC North Carolina. Both A10 teams were under seeded and look at what they still did.

@AlBernstein @SaintLouisMBB The best team they had played all season long in non-conference was Stanford and they lost to them by 1 point. St Louis was seeded appropriately. They played the best game of their season last night and Georgia played their worst game.

The @SaintLouisMBB should not have been a 9 seed. They should have been 7 or even 6. The reason that matters is that WHEN they win this game (which I predicted) they will have to play the number one see. An appropriate seed would mean they would be playing a lower seed next. Appropriate seeding matters. They are blowing out Georgia (of SEC) right now.
